good post, i am a big floyd fan and rate him in the top 50 all time but the points you raised are very respectable ones. It's always nice to see someone that can argue w/o tossin insults around. we might have differing views but I can most definitely respect yours. :good
To the guy who started this thread why don't you do yourself a favor and crawl under a rock and die. This thread is pure B.S. and its childish and nonsense. Your taking Mayweather credit away because you don't like him !!! That's why you started this dumb ass thread. I would never take away any accomplishment for someone who dedicated his life for boxing that won plenty of championship, p4p #1, Fighter of the year, and is undefeated. It's hard to ignore those facts when there right in front you. Making excuses for Hatton and Castillo well no do you any justice because the truth is that they LOST, whether the ref had something to do with it or not they still had to FIGHT !!!!! We can sit here all day and talk about how Duran,SLR,Hears, etc and kick his ass but you know what we are never going to find out and to the tell you the truth IMO i think he do good against all of them. If people people are comparing him to those fighters that saids a lot about the fighter !
That's actually pretty good except that he didn't take a knee against Hernandez. Again, he bent over, shook his hand, and the glove accidently touched the canvas. You said that after you said Floyd wasn't tough. You are backtracking. He didn't take a knee. Go watch the fight, or read a press clipping. He never took a knee. And you must not remember the Corely fight too well if you thought it was boring.
It's not often you're way off Scar, but I think you are on this one. From 1991 to 1994, in only 3 years, Toney built up a better resume than most fighters do in their entire careers. Your memory must be playing up if you don't think Michael Nunn was a huge win at the time, and remains a great win on Toney's resume now. And a former middleweight champ going life and death with a far bigger, powerpunching heavyweight (Peter), becoming the 2nd man ever to stop Evander Holyfield (after the giant Bowe), beating Booker and Guinn, and turning in strong performances against Ruiz and Rahman equals "a complete disgrace and a joke"? :-(
That's actually pretty good except that he didn't take a knee against Hernandez. Again, he bent over, shook his hand, and the glove accidently touched the canvas. Quote: I said Floyd is not tough in reference to the fact its not something you would bring up to describe him as a fighter. As one of the posters on here actually did! and that is the comment i was replying too. Why else would i say "every pro fighter has a degree of toughness but Floyds is not worth takling about, because its not like he is exceptionally tough. go back a few pages there is not back tracking here. You said that after you said Floyd wasn't tough. You are backtracking. Quote: You accuse me of not seeing the fight, but you tried to make out Floyd did not take a knee against C Hernandez i could say the same thing to you, because Floyd went down of his own accordatsch He didn't take a knee. Go watch the fight, or read a press clipping. He never took a knee. And you must not remember the Corely fight too well if you thought it was boring. I said that after, because it goes without saying that you have to have a certain amount of toughness to be a pro fighter, but there are that many lame-o fanboys in this thread i thought one of you dipshits were gonna say some **** like anybody who steps in the ring has to be tough etc etc. You know the drill. I will have to watch the Corley fight again, but from what i remeber it was not exactly fireworks, but then again you think he beat the **** out of Bruseles so what is your opinion on it worth  Gatti was a beat down, Bruseles do me a favour. Oh yeah the N'dou fight was a brawl lol Floyd's toughness>Gatti ,Hatton lol
You know what, believe whatever nonsense you want. I really don't give a ****. This is a useless conversation that isn't going anywhere.
You are right there. I cant have an objective convo with a man that thinks Floyd is tougher than Clottey,Hatton,Gatti.
If you're talking about me, I would like for you to point out where I argued that Floyd is tougher than Clottey, Hatton and Gatti.
Agreed. You have to come in every few minutes and put up a defense repeatedly, making the same arguments over and over again.
This has to be one of the pound for pound, most overmade threads. There have been like +3 made today alone.
