I agree that he is 'over-rated' in the sense he is called the best ever, etc, however never actually took on every challenge. I think there are a few more hurdles he has to cross before being known as the best ever... I think he needs to destroy Hatton again, rematch DLH after DLH rebuilds his career (pointless I know) and obviously Pacquiao... If he did all of that in one year, he could perhaps go down as the best ever.
Well that is what seperates Floyd from other GREAT! fighters. Closing the show is part of being truly a great fighter imo.
He touched the canvas on accident. That's a pretty natural reaction to hurting your hand like that. I don't see how you can someone is not tough because they reacted directly after injuring themselves. If he wasn't tough he would've quit or he would've went into a shell the rest of the fight. Your point is? If he wasn't tough he would've ignored Uncle Roger and ran. I've seen plenty of fighters ignore instructions from their corner.
Y'know I kinda want to agree with you , I love seeing the KOs too but then Lennox was castigated his whole career for being boring and I will defend his style to the hilt too. Also Mayweather has bad hands I can't really blame him for not really putting his whole weight into every shot.
Says who you? Ask Ricky about PBF's toughness. About the way he beat him at his own game by being the rougher and tougher fighter on the inside. Team Hatton underestimated PBF's toughness it's one of the reasosn why they lost to PBF.:dealLast time I checked PBF wasn't the one going into a ring post like Hatton was in your signature.:deal PBF is tougher until proven otherwise and you have nothing in PBF's history suggests he's not.
Here's the thing though. From the N'Dou fight on, Floyd has been sitting on his shots and has been going for the knockout. The only two fights in the time period where he didn't sit on his punches and go for the KO was against Baldo and Oscar.

In the sense that all pro fighters have to have a certain amount of toughness, but its not a quality that you would use to describe Floyd as fighter. Fast, quick, great counter puncher yes, but not tough. Its like me saying Malignaggi is slick, quick and he hits hard. He must hit hard to an extent, because he dropped N'dou and he does have Ko's, but its ******ed to say he can punch hard. capiche!atsch
If that is your feeble attempt to convince me Floyd is tough or tougher than Hatton and Gatti its an epic fail! Tougher than Hatton and Gatti pfft. You must have rocks in your head or something
Floyd and Duran were two completely different fighters. Willie Pep didn't have much power and was famous for saying "he who hits and runs away, lives to hit another day". The notion that you have to be Roberto Duran to be great doesn't make much sense. Mayweather was more powerful and more aggresive than Pep. However, few will question Pep's greatness.
Dude ,( despite thinking Floyd is an arse ) I have been on this thread defending him to the death , dinnae pile on in the 11th hour and have a go at me !
Et Tu Big Reg ? I just meant he is never going to be a wild swinging , do or die , aggressive fighter that was all !
See you have to exaggerate the point to make look Floyd look better. No one is saying you gotta fight like Duran, but there are times in a fight when you take time out to stamp your authority on a fight. Whether you do it in spurts is fine, but Mayweather doesn't even do that he just keeps running (Castillo 2,Baldy) Whitaker has more balls than Floyd and he is much tougher.
