Floyd would win i do think that, but i think floyd is scared of what could happen cotto brings it like pavilk does and lil floyd knows he is going to have to dig deep he knows he could get hurt droped he knows it 's and doesnt want to risk the Loss or the ass kicking win he mite get for once a agree with bob arum FLOYD doesnt have the heart like roy jones and taylor to take on a fight they could lose say what you want about roy but every fighter i knew felt tarver would give roy problems before the 1st tarver fight i even knew it would be tuff
i dont want to comment on it, i'm known here as a 'cotto nuthugger' whatever i say i am either going to be called a nuthugger or a hater.
This Fight Is Going To Be The Super Fight Of Mid 09. The Stars Are Lineing Up For It. I Dont Think This Fight Is Avoidable For Either Fighter.
You must be crazy man floyd is a hot knife dont get me wrong but you are talking like cotto is butter this would be by FAR the hardest fight floyd evr fought you have to see that on the outside looking in and floyd knows it...
Doubt if Floyd is scared - and people make some pretty good points - but Oscar's Money makes a better point than anything that is said in here. It's funny how some say if they were Mayweather - they would take the Cotto fight over the Oscar fight - even thought Oscar will pay more. You guys are crazy.
Its funny because so many mayweather fans on ESB come up with all these reasons why he doesn't have to fight cotto and how he could easily beat cotto if they were to fight, but how could any of you honestly believe that if FLOYD DOESN'T. I think we all know Mayweather likes to take fights he knows he's going to win, and if he was as confident as some of you guys in his ability to exploit Cotto's many flaws and stop him as easy as he did hatton, don't you think he would have already taken the fight? I mean if floyd was confident that the fight would truely be as easy as some of you think why wouldn't he take a fight that would improve his legacy and his bank account instead of just filling the bank with hoya's money? I mean Hoya isn't going anywhere. That fight will be there early next year and if he beat cotto, so would more money. I mean seriously cotto is going to present the toughest fight mayweather has had yet. He's deceptively fast, has a great jab, and has more power than almost anyone Mayweather has faced, and has underrated defense. Mayweather may very well win the fight, but I know he isn't as confident as some of you are. The fight needs to happen, Bob Arum said after cotto/mosely that he was going to contact mayweather and hoya to see if there was any interest in a fight with cotto, so its pretty obvious that mayweather's camp is the one avoiding the fight.
Up until now, Cotto has always risen to each occasion. Floyd too, but in a contrasting way. These two guys are among the best today and are unbeaten against the best , except for each other. Almost everyone agrees Floyd has the edge, but would also have to admit Cotto is the best challenge for Mayweather. Floyd especially has put himself in a posistion to back up his flapping lips with some action. The best fights the best, not part time semi retirees , or club fighters from reality TV. Too many potentialy great matches have never been made because of this kind of posturing and posing. Salvador Sanchez-Eusebio Pedroza, Lennox Lewis-Riddick Bowe just to name a couple. If Mayweather doesn't fight Cotto, years from now everybody will remember that over his accomplishments.

' I agree. I don't think anyone boxer is scared of another. People are just so impatient and expect instant gratification. It's too much money for the fight not to happen and like you said there will be alot more when they do fight next year. Business is business and if I was Floyd then I would fight Oscar for a easy 20 mil. I can't see why people would argrue that point considering he is an athlete and one of your main goals as an athlete is to get paid.
Floyd picks safe opponents so he knows he will win them. He coulda fought Hatton at 140lbs but he knew he could lure him up to 147lbs, not saying he would lose but it would have been a better fight at 140lbs. His toughest opponent at 147lbs was Judah. Baldomir was a joke and so was fighting ODLH. After Floyd had 2 hard fights with Castillo he pretty much took a break from fighting a SERIOUS fighter. He did well at 135lbs and fighting Corrales and Castillo...But I'd just like him to fight Cotto and maybe even clear out 147lbs. I think he has to beat Cotto to prove the "haters" wrong. Point being when you're lb 4 lb #1, you don't pick easy opponents...you don't go out of your way to not make challenging fights happen. When you're lb 4 lb #1 you HAVE to take the path of MOST resistance, thats what every pound for pound king does. It seems like Floyd busted his ass and fought like a lb 4 lb #1 fighter in his early days, but once he got to the top of the hill hes kinda just camped it and milked it out as long as he can...Thats my perspective of this at least I'm not trying to hate on Floyd cus hes a bad ass fighter but I want him to fight Cotto along with everyone else.
Lets just see if Cotto cam get past Gomez and the winning of cintron/margarito. Then we can talk about them facing off. Cause I have some doubts, not a lot, he'll be able to win both.
Floyd tried to make the fight with Hatton at 140 but after that destruction he put on Gatti Hatton and his father clearly said they were not ready to face Mayweather just yet. Also, Floyd was a better fighter at 140 anyway so I think Floyd would have beaten Hatton even worse. I personally think the Oscar win was impressive considering he fought well outside his division for the first time against Oscar who is obviously bigger and stronger than Floyd. Floyd has faced some stiff comp. in his career and he will fight Cotto but it's like I have been saying people expect instant gratification and when the fight don't happen with Cotto when they want it to happen then all of a sudden he is being avoided. Not talking about you by the way.
