I said that I would re-evaluate my P4P in the event of a dominant performance by Pac or Calzaghe. However, its still clear to me that he is the best in boxing at the current moment, even given the fact that he is ducking Cotto.

As far as what level fighters are fighting at, I think he followed by Pac, Calzaghe, and Cotto in that order.

    :deal

Another good one, and I agree again. :good

EDIT: Although I personally find it hard to seperate Pac and JMM by so much. So I have Floyd followed by Pac, JMM, Calzaghe, and Cotto - in that order.

Joan Guzman is a very entertaining, energetic fighter to watch, with great hand-speed and coordination.

But Mayweather knows how to not only do his thing right, but he makes his opponents trip over themselves. Guzman is scrappy, and makes too much entertainment.

What the hell am I saying? It's too late. I've got to stop this.:scaredas:

Until Guzman fights a high level opponent, I won't so much as hint his name in this list.

I'd put Cotto ahead of Mayweather.

Gallito I don't disagree with everything you say, I also believe he has taken the path of lesser (no the least, but lesser) resisitance.

But he is fighting at a higher level than any other fighter in my book right now. If he ****s around and rematches these guys he already beat later this year, I will be seriously disapointed with him and he will be removed as the P4P king.

WOW!! I dont usually find my POV as far off from yours as I do here.

DLH Twice and Hatton Twice is the best in Boxing??

While Cotto has cleaned out the division fighting the guys Floyd wouldnt and after Margarito? Floyd is the only 1 left.:good

Calz, Cotto, and Pac are taking the toughest tests. In terms of quality? Floyd isnt.

I never get caught in P4P too much because it ends up a popularity/media contest.

Wow this is strong. I was awestruck by the Gomez performance, but I keep having to slap myself and remember it was Gomez. I see some marvelous things in the ring with him, no doubt.

If he can do those same things against Margo, I will move him up.

You may be right Brooklyn, its a strong statement but I have much respect for your knowledge of boxing.

C Money, notice I didn't say the best competition. I said he is performing on a higher level than any other fighter IMO.

You know full well I don't like Mayweather, but P4P, I think he is the most dangerous boxer in the ring right now (against a wider variety of opponents) if I am honest with myself. That being said, I do favor Cotto to beat him, as I said a few weeks ago, because Cotto is developing a style and a momentum that will be a nightmare for him.

Floyd is still number 1 P4P, like it or not, he's the man to beat right now, I just hope he cuts the bull**** between "The Iron Ring" show and wrestling, and gets back in the ring and knocks the shaky chinned Cotto out, which will happen in 09.

An active Mayweather is still P4P#1 without a doubt.

But he and anyone else is on my list only as long as he fights meaningful fights.

Of course the Hatton win is a great one. It it wasn't long ago, so he's still #1. But as we all know he's semi-retired and only fights DLH in September whom he's already beat, he's close to gettin off from the top of the list because of inactivity.

Cotto never was a super talent compared to Floyd or JMM. Neither Pavlik. But BEATING BIG NAMES is the p4p all about not having the skills to beat them and not proving so.

I look at Mayweather's performance against Hatton. Yes, he knocked him out, but for the first few rounds, Hatton was getting to him, making him fight his fight, and controlling the distance. Cotto would have absolutelty pancaked Hatton. And Cotto's performance against Judah was better than Mayweather's. Cotto lost 2 or 3 rounds, the same as Mayweather (who arguably lost 4 rounds), but basically brutalized him until the stoppage. Head to head ability when pinned against eachother is another thing I think about, and quite honestly, my belief is that Cotto beats Mayweather handily.

Not based on Cottos performance over Gomez I hope.:bart

You can make a case for Cotto being #1 at welter but not PFP just yet!

Yes Floyd looks better against his opposition because he never fought the one we think who has the chance to beat him like Cotto & Margarito.

Calzaghe's just beginning to step up but he looks Bad vs Bhop.

Cotto's consistently beating the best available opponents but he's not yet determined to call floyd.

Pac's fought the best & willing to fight the best and Challenging fighters much bigger than him, the same guys that give the Money May name in PBF. Don't say he's ducking Guzman or the JMM's rematch. These 2 need to make their name by themselves to earn a Pac Dance coz Pac has some bigger fish to fry like Hatton & DLH.

Pac now is my #1, coz Boxing(Cotto & Margarito) retired Mayweather.

So I assume Juan Manuel Marquez is number 2 on your list?
