Here is a man who has violent outbursts outside the ring, family drama, court dates, and blows up at peoples questions yet in the ring he is the most professional fighter out there. Whether its low blows or getting head butted. He doesn't act like a little baby trying to get points taking away from another fighter. He stays calm and keeps his composure. He can have a riot break out around him and just sit patiently in a corner waiting for it to end. It's that ability of while he was able to end that fight with a "cheap shot" Saturday. Any other boxer would have been crying about the butt, then try to be quick to retaliate. Mayweather touches gloves, ref starts the fight, Mayweather walks out in his fighting stance, Ortiz is not acting professional, Mayweather gives him all the time in the world to get ready, Ortiz goes in for a hug, and Mayweather brushes him off and ends the fight. A boxer not in control of hisself would have lundged at Ortiz throwing wild bombs. Mayweather, cold and calculated.
Mayweather is the smartest fighter in the sport. It cracked me up that people said the Judah win wasn't legit b/c he should have been disqualified for Roger entering the ring during a break...I was like damn, haha, he got fouled badly, stayed in the corner, didn't retaliate and never got involved in the riot, and they said he should've lost, people really hate this guy.
Very few people actually said that. Most here gave Floyd props for holding back, myself included. You don't need to exagerrate to try and make a point if you have one. :thumbsup
Calm down little guy, we won't give Floyd too much credit, don't want you to get an aneurysm or anything.
Naysayers no very little of the sport. Larry's personal vendetta to disparage Floyd is some thing that's been going on since the early 2000's. Also Floyd was the perfect boxer that night against Ortiz! Speed, ring savvy and power is what he showed as well as ring awareness. He never takes a second off in a 3 minute round. Never! It was far from a cheap shot. It was perfect boxing! PERFECT BOXING! Ortiz was an accident waiting to happen!
Agree! :good Now, I don't know the guys personally, but it makes me think that SOME of that drama and "bad guy" persona is to sell himself.
I agree. I can't believe more people don't recognize how many fighters would have lost it from the intentional headbutts throughout the fight. It is amazing to me Mayweather did not complain a single time to the referee. People can say what they want about Mayweather outside the ring, but inside the ring? All class. He is a true champion. Mayweather just went about his business, smiled, shook his head, and continued to bust Ortiz up.
