I still wouldn't want to consider him top 5 then. I mean saying he wins the trilogy with Pac, since I doubt 1 fight even a good win is going to be enough to settle that. I mean maybe complete domination the likes of the Marquez Mayweather fight but that's just not going to happen. Then he takes Martinez and P Will and gets strong wins over both of them his standing definately does go up. Again these fights only matter if the fighters still look prime and are in the proper weight. So Pac at 147 and Martinez/Williams at 160 no trying to pull Pac up to 154 since that is not his best. Same for the other 2 and dragging them down. All the wins have to be convincing. Then I'd probably consider Mayweather cracking the top 25 or so. I mean 5 you have guys like SRR, Ali, Pep, Louis, Armstrong. And others could be considered above him. I mean top 5 for any current boxer is really almost an impossible task. I mean number of fights has gone down drastically plus. Also there is a lot of politics involved. Before it was a single champion and the 1 and 2 in a division attempted to make fights now there are 4 major sanctioning bodies not counting ring magazine and a lot of fighters don't fight there mandatory so it stops a lot. I mean people fight now for biggest purse rather then best fighter.

 

Floyd's defense is not better then Sweet Pea. It isn't even better then Hopkins, James Toney or a host of other guys. All of them had a more dynamic defense then Floyd.

Floyd isn't better technically then those guys you mentioned either. You need to watch more boxing and understand the sport better. Floyd does a lot of things 'technically' wrong but he gets away with them because of his athleticism. As a boxer, he's not in Ray Leonard's league. As a potshot artist, he's pretty high up the scale, but that's different.
