That's why he's still undefeated at the moment. Come to think of it, he has not fought legitimate threat most of his life. I do not have to mention the names of the fighter he didn't face but your guess is as good as mine. Corrales and Castillo are good fighters but they are not great, not HOF caliber. Oscar, past his prime, hasn't won any meaningful fight all his career. Hatton is a protected, overhyped fighter whose claim to prominence is by beating KT, again past his prime and retirement bound. Floyd somehow manage to eke out a SD win against a has-been Oscar and took ten rounds to dispose a face-first, hitme Hatton. Floyd's best exhibition of his skill and talent was demonstrated against featherweight Marquez. Not a bad win considering Marquez stature in the lightweight division. His upcoming fight with Pacquiao would be his first fight in a while where he has to face a legitimate threat and a fight at the elite level. His skils and talent will be put to test and a high time for Floyd to validate and prove that he really is worthy of recognition and admiration.
holy ****...hahahahahaha....good one..FLOYD IS THE ELITE LEVEL!!!!...u can argue all you want but u can pick apart every win pac has had as well...esp since 2 of his biggest were sloppy seconds from floyd
I'm, really shocked at all the mayweather hate. He's right when he said that in beating Pacman will solve absolutely nothing! More excuses to follow. No wonder why he has an excuse for everyone they throw at him to fight; it' s b/c the media, public, etc.. are all doping the same thing to him. He is being blamed for the fight not happening, and when it does happen and he walks through manny, well, the new excuse will be pac was a smaller guy moving up. All these threads by ignorant people are really pathetic.
1) corrales was #1 at 130 at the time 2) JLC was #1 at 135 at the time 3) Gatti was top 3 at 140 then and he ****ing DESTROYED HIM 4) Hatton was undefeated and had beaten KT who was not that far past it and was a heavy favorite, malignaggi, collazzo, and urango, he had a title at 147 and was AGAIN #1 at 140 5) ODLH was coming off a brutal ko of mayorga who gave shane all he could handle and was U GUESSED it #1 at 154 6) he fought not one but two linear champs at 147....the former undisputed champ in judah and the guy who beat him in baldo and dominated both of them 7) along the way he has beaten 17 world champions and won 6 titles in 5 classes while never being hurt or knocked down except when he broke his hand 8) other notables augustus manfredy famoso jesus chavez chop chop corley g, hernandez JMM #2 p4p fighter in the world...yes smaller but got thoroughly dominated 9) he has had 1 close fight and one fight ODLH where he didn't either get a ko or win 9 rds easy 10) I hope u are kidding with this post
I just did...he sold 2.2 mil ppv's vs oscar...that is not elite level? fought him while a WBC champ coming off koing mayorga..the guy who gave mosely fits and beat forrest twice
u have ZERO cred on this forum....u can call him a dick, a coward a runner whatever...but to say he is not elite may be the stupidest thing I have ever read on here
Ok... Castillo with the early losses in his career does not reflect how great the fighter really was. He beat Casamayor, considered possibly the greatest modern fighter from Cuba to fight as a pro other than Jose "Mantequilla" Napoles and Kid Gavilan. He also beat Stevie Johnston, who was a p4p fighter at the time and won 1 out of 3 amateur matches with Sugar Shane Mosley, Corrales late in his career, Herman Ngdougo, Cesar Bazan, and most importantly did get robbed of his first fight with Floyd. Castillo was clearly the number one lightweight and on a hotstreak by the time Floyd fought him, so to say Castillo is not hall of fame material clearly shows you haven't been following boxing for too long or doing a good job of rating fighters. Like him or hate him, Floyd beat the best fighter 135lbs on down which was the hard punching Castillo in the rematch and you gotta respect him for what he did 135 on down. What he's done at 147 is not something cotto, mosley, or pacquiao wouldn't of have done, so he does have alot to prove at 147
