Those fighters floyd fought early in his time were undoubtedly good fighters and could be the best at the division at the time but my contention is, those fighters turned out to be just an average boxer by today's standard. try more.

I'm not really a big fan fan of Floyd, but it's obvious too me that there's alot of hate going around for him. He clearly has some great wins. Why is it that whoever he beats instantly becomes a "bum". I've been on this forum since 05 and I remember before the Gatti fight many posters were picking Gatti then right after that fight he was dismissed. I remember everyone saying Mayweather was ducking Hatton, but after Mayweather beat the **** out of Hatton everyone said he beat up on a smaller fighter. The truth is 3 of Mayweather's wins (Marquez, De La Hoya, Hatton) are the fights that made Pac a superstar. Then throw in his wins over Corrales, Castillo, Judah, Gatti, and even Hernandez and Mayweather is a legitimate #1 fighter. To say he is untested at the elite level is ridiculous. I find it so funny how the Gatti win was instantly dismissed because of the dominating fashion Mayweather won it in.

OMG there is so much wrong with this i dont even know where to ****ing begin.

    1. yeah corrales was the number 1 guy in the division at the time but there wer other great fighters there too like frietas and casamayor why not fight them instead of famoso and manfreddy ?

    2. castillo actually beat him the first time

    3. LOL why even mention gatti ? its not like he was ever an elite fighter which is wat this thread is about oh and why not fight kt instead of gatti if he wasnt that past it ?

4.again hatton wasnt and has never been an elite fighter which is wat the thread is about

    5. dlh was 34 not 24

    6. so he beats baldomir WOW again not an elit fighter and judah is a natural 140 pounder

but most importantly to me how can a man who claims to be the best ever be at 147 for the last 3+ years and still not fight an ELITE welterweight like mosley, williams, cotto, pacman, margarito, clottey **** not even berto or quintana ? answer that ****head

It doesn't look like anyone here actually read the post, or are lacking reading comprehension skills. He didn't say Mayweather hasn't fought any elite fighters, he's saying that he's untested, which is true. Mayweather has never been in a real, tough fight. He's been in some decent scraps but no wars. We don't know how durable he really is. As good as some of his opponents were, almost all of his opposition was tailor made for his style.

Pacquaio is going to be the first guy to really test Floyd and push him to the edge. We're going to find out how durable he is and how much heart he really has.

Yes, and he's still untested. i.e. he's never been pushed or really taken to a point of no return. He's always been able to skate by on decisions due to his physical advantages and defense. Eventually his reluctance to be hit is going to be downfall.

Everyone hates PBF. Hatton was undefeated and before the fight no one was saying he was overhyped. ODH who is a HOFer, lost to PBF on ODH terms, the gloves, ring size, wieght. Corrales was supposed to be the next big thing until PBF. Lets not even talk about the Gatti incident (R.I.P).
Give the kid a little credit.:nono
