In a fight that a lot of people (who are either hate Floyd or have no idea what they're talking about) thought the fight was close. Hell this kid i work with, big MMA fan/fighter, thinks Oscar won that fight. Some people actually think Oscar deserves a rematch....Not thatthey want to see it, but they think he was robbed. (******ed people mostly)

Yeah, I'd much rather see Cotto-DLH than a Mayweather-DLH rematch.

But Mayweather-Cotto wasn't gonna happen that soon with both Mayweather and Cotto (or Cotto's team more accurately) preferring a DLH match, and DLH looking to fight one of the two.

If Mayweather actually preferred the Cotto fight as opposed to a De La Hoya rematch, would the fight actually happen, seeing as how Cotto's team prefers a DLH match, the DLH match represents more money and exposure, and Arum would prefer to work with GBP rather than Mayweather?

The fight wasn't gonna happen that soon anyway.

I agree that it's a good fight for Cotto just to stay busy. After all, he did just fight Mosley and Judah back to back. But to say he still doesnt have a fanbase in America is ridiculous.

People need to stop thinking that Floyd is such a huge draw. Before Zab Judah, Floyd never was a draw. Every big fight Floyd has been in, the fans have come to see his opponent for the most part. Gatti had a huge following, DLH is a mega superstar, and Hatton (even though he is overrated) has damn near an entire continent behind him.

Did Floyd have huge numbers against Corrales, Castillo, Bruselles, Baldomir? HELL NO!

Floyd's fight versus baldomir was not very long before his DLH fight. He didnt make any where near the amount of money. Why not?? BECAUSE HE IS NOT A HUGE DRAW. Just b/c people know your name doesnt mean they want to see you fight.

Cotto on the other hand, while his name supposedly isnt as big as Floyds has sold out MSG twice. Not even, the great trinidad was able to do that. People actually want to see Cotto fight b/c he is an exciting fighter.

For all floyd's popularity, I guarantee you more people would pay to see Cotto fight than floyd.

I actually think Floyd fans would rather watch Cotto fight b/c they know their boy is going to be boring.

So let's please stop with the cotto doesnt have a fanbase BS.

I take Mayweather's "Cotto needs to become more of a draw" claims as just his way of holding out for more money. I don't know why people take what Floyd says seriously, he says so many outrageous things anyway. He even claimed he was the draw against De La Hoya, but didn't mind signing for about half of what Oscar was making.

Mayweather may generate more money (PPV sells more than ticket sales) than Cotto, but outside of rematches with De La Hoya and maybe Hatton, Mayweather isn't gonna make more money anywhere else other than fighting Cotto. A Pacquiao fight will never happen, Arum wouldn't put Manny in there with Floyd.

Thats not the point, the point is Floyd goes around flapping his gums about he's the best ever, meanwhile he won't fight Cotto. If he was a real man, he'd fight anyone in his way, to prove that he's the best.

:|:|:| Cry me a ****ing river. PBF-Oscar was a great fight to take and people wanted to see it. PBF-Zab was another big fight that people wanted to see. PBF-Gatti at the time was a big fight that people wanted. PBF-Hatton was another big fight that people wanted. Don't act as if PBF has never given the fans what they wanted because it's simply not true. Just because he's fighting Oscar again doesn't mean that PBF-Cotto will never happen if PBF can make 20 mil against Cotto the fight will happan be patient damn.

He won't fight Cotto , Really and how much of that is Floyd fault ? So you tell me how should this fight be negotiated between Arum , Cotto and Floyd .. Who get what ?? and who make the offer.
because when it come down to it , that what its all about.

Much like Oscar is the main reason for Floyd's numbers in Vegas, Cotto's oponents are to thank for the big numbers in New York. The diffrence is Cotto vs. De La hoya a draw though. As much as peopel say they don't want to watch it, Mayweather vs. Oscar II will still bring in far more PPV buys than Mayweather vs. Cotto(who?). Now, If Cotto beats Gomez, fights and beats Mayorga IN VEGAS...Then you'd have some tickets sold tot he mainstream.
