The biggest fight that can be made right now is Cotto vs Mayweather, and since Mayweather is all about big paydays it should be a no-brainer...
The hell it doesn't. Hatton fought 3 fights in the U.S right before Floyd. The Brits had unlimited access to tickets. None of those fights were even close to selling out. Against Floyd, the Brits only were allotted 3,900 tickets. The fight sold out in under an hour. Ricky is not a big draw in the U.S. Yes his fans in England love him. However, the PPV numbers were all from U.S households. That fight had the highest PPV numbers of any fight not involving DLH or a HW. Oh yeah, DLH/Mitchell would not do 600K. Oscar's fight with Campas did in the 3's. Why do you think Forbes/DLH won't be on PPV? Yeah, he wants to give back to the fans. However, if they thought he could do at least 600k it would definately be on PPV.
I definitely agree with Rivera, we want to see a really good fight. We already know what to expect from DLH vs Mayweather because everybody saw that ****. At least with him fighting Cotto or some other up and comer, we would get something new and exciting. It doesn't necessarily mean that the fight is going to be a classic but at least we have that unpredictability factor. Why give us a rematch that nobody is clamoring for? And I like I said it is not even the biggest fight that can be made in my opinion. Adding the father vs son, brother vs brother **** is not going to do anything to make people get this fight. They should of did that the first time.
You might be right, or you might be totally wrong. Truth is we'll never know just how big Mayweather is if he fight these same two guys again. He was only selling Cotto/Pac type #'s before DLH. And then fought BRitians most pop boxer after. You can't blame me for being a tad skeptical. [/quote] Oh yeah, DLH/Mitchell would not do 600K. Oscar's fight with Campas did in the 3's. But still, guesstimate how many buys would Floyd vs. Mitchell do.
thats not true most of the ppv numbers come from the casual fans..most of esb sopcast fights..you wont believe how many females i know that would order a DLH fight just because they like him
He may not be on Trinidad's level, but you are an idiot if you don't think that the fight would sell out no matter what.
I can agree with that. but that just even furthers my point. it's not necessarily a boxers fans who are ordering PPV. so to say that FLoyd popularity is waht made x amount PPV buys is ridiculout. The ppv buys should be credited to the fact that it is an interesting fight not b/c of floyd himself.
No, you are wrong because they would not order the fight. They would do like normal casual fight fans do and that is go over somebody else's house to watch the ****. They are not about to spend 60 dollars to see DLH fight, when they can just look at his public myspace page or something
yeah it would sell out MSG but the guy i responded to said they would sell out Yankee Stadium. No i would not. Period. They would sell out MSG in a couple of Hrs. However they will not do that well PPV wise. Maybe 450k right now. While many believe cotto is a BIG draw over here he really isnt. Come over here and walk down the streets and ask people if they know who cotto is and you'll find it shocking at how many people dont know him. He has alot of PR fans here but as far as other ethnic groups they dont even know who cotto is.
the person i responded to said they would sell out yankee ****ing stadium..your an idiot if you think him and PBF can do that
