yeah I ranted a bit on the 4th point but it make me cringe everytime i read a poster blabber about fighting the best for legacy but in the same breath will call fighters Like Gerald, Cowards or scum.. and pointing out promotors like arum are only willing to gamble if the fighter is willing to take all the risk.
why is the best p4p boxer bad for the sport ? all black people like him so i guess black people should not watch boxing anymore cause we are bad for the sport. and im talking black boxing fans, most of his fans anyways are between the ages of 15 to about 30 and are black.i already know what YOU people think of him.to bad about 90 % of blacks and few small percentages of other races feel differently. if its boxing you love, then judge him for that.its not a mr nice guy kiss ass contest.you have good guys and bad guys, let him play what ever role he wants to play to get the asses in the seats or by them ppv's. dont hate but appreciate the poetry in motion you witness evertime he fights.and learn to think outside your little box, pay more attention to his boxing.if you dont get his antics then you just dont get it.but you do get boxing dont YOU ? THIS IS TO WHO EVER
It's funny how people always try to overdramatize everything and say "oh this is killing boxing", "this is what's wrong with boxing", when boxing has more serious issues. People yap about "bad decisions are killing boxing!" whenever there's a close, controversial decision. As if bad decisions never took place before. Or Mayweather going after an easier, bigger payday "is what's wrong with boxing". As if that never happened before, and that means Mayweather-Cotto can NEVER happen because Floyd is chooisng a bigger payday first. Meahwhile there's a lot of more serious problems in boxing to deal with. Lack of sponsors in the states (no network TV), blatant corruption, boxers being allowed to fight with HIV or brain injuries, boxing being robbed by promoters and managers, organizations taking bribes and blackmailing fighters, etc...
floyd aint ruining boxing...you guys gotta remember to us boxing is purely entertainment and spectatorship but to fighters like floyd and b-hop who came from **** backgrounds its their career and profession and why should they be criticised for wanting to maximise their earning potential during what are very short careers. Boxings an unforgiving sport and a lot of fighters do what they have to do in the sport and get out so i dont blame some fighters for wanting to make smart business decisions. I do however take exception to floyd calling himself the GOAT because thats stretching it. I think 90% of whats wrong with boxing is the fans i mean we constantly diminish a fighters accomplishments by hating on their opponents as soon as they've beaten them floyd is the perfect example of this people wanted to see him fight corrales he fought him people say corrales is weight drained and dried up people want him to fight gatti he does people say gatti was past his best and its the same case for every fighter we should be more appreciative of the dedication and the skill it takes to compete at that level in such a demanding sport. Fans also quick to hate on a guys style but if they successful with it why they gonna change it Fans also always hate on the guys whose on top few years ago it was rjj and now its mayweather p.s on the pbf-cotto topic you cant pin point all the blame on floyd theres too many parties involved if arum and cotto wanna talk **** and moan about pbf fighting de la hoya then why dont the two of them grow some nuts and put an offer on the table jus like oscar did instead of sitting around moaning
Mayweather is more a business man then fighter.Nothing wrong with that but Mayweather shouls shut up about being the greatest ever because he's not even close. I shudder to think what would have Happened to Hatton if he would have faced a prime Hearns or Leonard.Thats what people need to realize.Take Mayweather's last 6 opponents and not 1 of them would have heard the final bell if they were faceing a Hearns or Leonard. Mayweather will go down as a great boxer which he deserves. But Leonard,Hearns,Duran and company are great boxers AND LEGENDS.
say it again!!!! they hate to see a blck man on top wasn't hatton suppose to kick his arse ha ha now ya'll want calzaghe to beat the big black man hopkins dont hate cause ya boy getting cake if i had to fight and got rich id enjoy my money to
Quite right! Hell I would just take Fraud Scareweather against any of the top ten WelterWeights! It's became clear to me PBF was a fraud when he said he would love to fight Margarito but the the money was not there, then when was offered 8 million dollars (yes $8,000,000) he still said no. I lost all respect at that moment for what had been a great career. I think I am like most boxing fans we don't abjectly hate the guy we just see through the phony "greatness".
No whats wrong with Boxing is that you have three fighters walking around with Belts that belong to Floyd at welterweight. You have two guys walking around with belts that belong to Pavlik at middleweight, you have a couple of guys walking around with belts that belong to Calzaghe at super middleweight. If we didnt have all this crap it would be simple. The champ fights the number one guy and thats all there is to it. but what happens is a guy loses a belt (lets use Kessler for an example) to Calzaghe then trys to force another fighter Mundine to fight him for a belt that isnt either one of thiers to start with. This belt chasing is what wrong with Boxing. If a guy can grab a belt then he dont have to fight the man to become THE champ. If he gets a belt, waits around long enough he can become the man. That is what wrong with boxing. Guys going for the most money isnt what wrong with Boxing. If that was the case then Robinson is what was wrong with boxing, Ali is what was wrong for boxing, Leonard is what was wrong with boxing.
