    Bazooka,

Papa let see how good your memory really is. What is the one odd fact about that fight on April 6, 1987? Think hard bro....

hes not bad for the sport thats ridiculous he brought controversy to the sport and attracted casual fans and unlike many of these "i let my promoter talk for me" robots (*cough*cotto) actually has character and personality which sells.
Bad for the sport is heavyweights coming in overweight and undertrained but still cashing the fat cheque at the end of it and laughing to the bank. PBF always pushed himself to the limit and never undertrained or underprepared

It was my dad who brougth my attention in to boxing. He used to say how good SRR was before then the young Ali, Foreman, Norton and Frazier. I was barely a kid then. Now I was able to relate to my own kids the names of SRL, Duran, Hearns and Hagler. They now watch Pacquiao fight on tv. Mayweather has nothing to do with my love for the sports, on the contrary I myself would teach my kids not to emulate FMJ...

In terms of bringing in new fans, im sure he has had a pisitive impact. But for the people who were already into boxing, he is bad for the sport. Floyd creates so much hype for his fights, unfortunately the fights turn out horrible. How many people got into the massive hype created for the Oscar fight, only to be turned off by the whackness of the fight. Im sure there were a few people who saw that fight and thought, is this the best boxing has to offer? Because thats sure what they hyped the fight up to be. Then they go off and watch mma or something
