The sad thing in all of this is 2999 tickets were sold by Ticket Master of Mexico City Mexico
The other ticket was purchased from Grand Rapids

 

I doubt that Kim would report this and there be no truth behind it, Yes Floyd says he is injured but do we have a medical report to support that? No we dont, so Floyds story is just as good as Steve Kims story.

 

We'll see how the PPV does.

It sounds to me like this had more to do with stupid pricing than lack of draw. They sold out the cheaper seats, they just can't get people to buy the expensive ones in this economy. Still, Mayweather got almost as many buys for fighting Carlos Baldomir as Pac got for fighting Marquez. Unless Mayweather's PPV numbers come in low, he'll always have the argument that he's the bigger PPV draw, and a bigger chunk of the revenue comes in from the PPV than from the live gate.

 

Check out Hayman @ around 2:00 on the PBF interview vid. He genuinely loves PBF. He'd tell him his **** don't stink and mean it! Also that 'chick' (which is quite generous wording on your part!) was present in an interview with Steve Bunce and B-Hop that went sour. Funny as hell, though. Exactly and it's up to fans to believe that they want to based on what they want to see/hear.

I don't care about how much tickets they're selling, just looking forward to the fight and the PPV numbers after it to confirm if Mayweather can draw or not after 2 years off. Rumors and garbage especially from proven haters like Kim mean nothing.

Perhaps not the most feared but the man who was on top clearly didnt want to fight him~ so in a sense Kim was correct, nobody wanted to fight Margarito until after Margarito took out Cotto~

Once that happend Mosley had no other choice there was no longer a short cut to the top, Floyd had already used up those short cuts. and Now that Floyd is back he is going to have to realize, that in order to make the money he is looking to make during this comeback he is not going to get it by taking any short cuts.

I am not saying Marquez is a short cut neither that is a tuff fight, but the fans clearly speak on what is happening out here, the fans know what they want to see, So if Floyd does plan on continuing with this comeback its going to have to be with pacquiao.

There is just no other way around it, and honestly I am not so sure he beats Manny Pacquiao, honestly its all up in the air now, nobody can say for a fact that Floyd would beat Manny.

in fact, its more likely that Floyd gets knocked out by Manny than Floyd beating Manny. when they do put the fight together you will see who the favorite is, sure that doesnt mean much but it speaks volumes in terms of those who beleive in Floyd.

Steve Kim wasn't correct, he was following obvious hype and supporting it to bring excitement. Margarito has done nothing at that point to prove he was the most feared beast he claimed to be. I remember DLH bringing out a long list of opponents willing to fight Margarito at the time(Santos, Wright, Smith just to name few). Margarito never offered anything for the big boys to consider him over available better options, not money, not a single major win and a paper title. That was proven true after he beat Cotto, when a guy is there fighting bums all his career he can't expect big boys to give him any attention, got to earn it like the rest did. Screaming "people fear me" never did anything.

Pac/Mayweather will eventually happen, all signs hint to that already with Arum showing interest in making the fight possible and bringing it up all the time. It's all up to Mayweather to finish the job against Marquez and start negotiations. When the fight is signed we'll have enough time to enjoy discussing who we think will win, it's 50/50 for me right now and I need to see Mayweather/Marquez to make a prediction.

 

I swear man. Boxing is one of the only sports I know where the people on the side who get paid by and enjoy it, media and fans, talk the most crap about it and its TOP practitioners.

Man if you do not wan to see PBF box why in the hell are you a fan? Man Manny P, Miguel C, Sugar Shane, etc... man we need to support them all. Why would this thread topic even bring joy to a boxing fan?

Man the reason people keep saying boxing is "dying" is horrible hate mongers that would rather see athletes in their sport fail rather than supporting them. When two top 5 P4P guys can't sell a fight you know what that says? Something is wrong with the fan base, not the guys' skill. As boxing fans we should be sad not happy fools!
