Essentially, I agree with you. Whatever your opinion of Floyd and this fight, him being injured or postponing for business reasons delays the Pacquiao fight, which we ALL want to see.

However, Floyd has been far from humble over the years. Any athlete who has a big mouth and is perceived not to be backing up his words with his actions, in any sport, is going to pay a price when he falls short. Look how quick the media turned on LeBron, a guy who has damn near been the NBA's savior for years now. Look at all those chumps every year in the NFL who try to "guarantee" a win. It's not just boxing fans who are fickle.

Floyd called himself a huge draw based on fighting marquee names with built in fanbases during an economic boom, and now it's turning out that just like the rest of the boxing world, he isn't immune to the recession.

Don't give a **** how many tickets sold, I actually DID want to see this fight.

JMM called out Floyd, not the other way around. Size is overrated in this sport, because in the end, the better fighter wins.. aka Jones v Ruiz, Pac v Hatton, Hopkins v Tarver.

Very true we shouldn't care about it. But when a boxer USES it as an excuse to duck a worthy opponent, then his drawing power will be watched. A dumb fish is always caught with its big mouth.

Humble? Why should he be? He has mopped the floor with almost everyone put in front of him! He has made title holders look like rookies. So why should he act like he "is just like everyone else"? He isn't.

He IS the draw. Although he may not be the draw for reasons he thinks hahaha. Mayweather is "The Villain". Though he may not think so. A hero's story is defined by the strength of his villain. That is why none of these "Hero's" can draw fans. The Villains suck! Now you put them in there with Mayweather? Now you got a Blockbuster!

before you trannies split your heads over this. first and foremost, this is a business.

sports is a business and just like any business, its immune to economic and financial factors, by analogy, both internal and external factors. think of PBF-JMM as another car product of GM. throughout the years, car manufacturers have had hits and misses and definitely, based on market reception this is a miss.

moving it another date will not significantly improve the ticket sales i guarantee you. Ask anyone here with a decent experience in sales and business development. Just like opening a new branch of a food shop, experience will tell you sales during the opening will give you an indication on how it will do well.

i will not magically double in figure the next month or so because market reception and buyers have decided whether this is a good buy or not. we can shout ourselves horse about the merits of JMM but that is only half the story, the other one is PBF.

while in theory, both are marquee names in their own rights, such a match-up as the market has perceived is not exciting, does not sizzle, or worse a mismatch. and because that decision has been made in the average fans brain, don't count on it even if its moved to sept.

Nobody wants to buy it because it's a ****ing boring fight. Business sense dictates that they cancel it. Unless the promoters want to lose, they want to satisfy a handful of hardcore fans. But that's not the way to run a business.

The fight didn't sell well coz people see this as a mismatch fight and it's overpriced ...

    - Floyd is a heavy 4 to 1 favorite in the betting odds...
    - Floyd Sr. said JMM is just a tune up fight for Jr. (what a marketing blunder!)...
    - Floyd has all the advantages over JMM...
    - Floyd is much bigger than JMM...
    - JMM has to jump 1 and 1/2 divisions while Floyd only go down 1/2 division...
    - Floyd is being overpaid with $15M for this mismatch fight and this high cost is pass to the fans/buyers...
