Cute. Nothing wrong with being a fan. Like for anything else, some have brains others don't.

The exact same thing could be said about any other boxer nowadays, right? Thought so.

Yes, it can, hence my post. It's watered down. Thank for helping prove my point.

Prove what? That 6 titles in 5 different weight divisions is better nowadays than not as many titles in not a many different weight divisions?

Whose comparing Floyd with the great boxers of the past anyway? Don't remember doing so. You're throwing out a red herring.

Please try to keep up. I said with as many belts in each division, it's a watered down accomplishment. That doesn't mean it's NOT an accomplishment, just watered down. You then said that can be said about any boxer nowadays, adding credence to my post. Got that?

Titles dont mean much ,whats important is quality of opposition.

Fine then, it's a watered down accomplishment, therefore allow me to rephrase: he won 6 watered down titles in 5 different watered down divisions (more than Mosley, more than Margarito, pretty much more than any other boxer of the same era). Here's a cookie. You happy now?

To be quite honest im a fan of floyd and b-hop but i would rather see b-hop move down to super middle, which he cud easily do as he fought pavlik at 170, win a world title there because it wud cement his legacy even more and he wud easily be able to beat anyone in the division, and then move up to cruiser to win a belt there and become a four weight world champ and then possibly 1 last fight at light heavy against the dawson-johnson winner and then retire.

I love it! By that logic, title holders would no longer represent quality opponents. Seriously. :think

Blanket statements have no place is these types of discussions. Not all Champs or titleholders are equal. Politic play too large a part in getting a right fighter a shot while more deserving do not.

To be honest here, Mayweather was ready to face anyone and everyone until he came to 147.

At 140, Hatton kept saying he wasn't ready after beating the Zoo man and Arum didn't want Cotto near Floyd.

Since he got to 147, Mayweather has been a deception for not taking the more legit challenges, therefore he sure should keep his mouth quiet in regards to Hopkins. Its the mirror effect..

Nowadays, we shouldn't give too much importance to titles because there's so many of them in each weight class...Therefore in today's world, moving up and getting a belt is not as significant as 40 or 50 years ago when you had to beat the best all the time to claim the only belt !!

I'd much rather see a boxer truly dominate 2-3 weight classes in his career than win belts in 6 or 7 weight classes !
