No, he isn't humble, he knows he's good. He just goes over the top with the arrogance building his public persona, to sell more tickets. I mean, how many American greats can you name that have a large percentage rooting for his loss with a passion? He sells tickets. And he does it well. He sells with over the top arrogance, I do not believe though that that is the real Floyd. It's just his public persona. And honestly. Why would you be humble and caring towards your fans? I'm sure he appreciates people that appreciate him, but that doesn't warrant humility. Does it? And yes I still want Pac to whoop his ass, just because I like Pac's dirt poor to riches story combined with his fearless fighting style. But I do respect Floyd. He's smart, skilled and a great actor..lol..
If he wants America's support, then the right strategy is not to act so cocky and so arrogant. His advisers gave him the wrong strategy in how to win fans in front of the camera.
15 years? You lying ******* One thing I've noticed about Floyd, despite being renowned for having a loud mouth, is that he's not very articulate in the way he speaks. He says the same **** over and over again, allowing us to easily telegraph the words coming out of his mouth. On top of this as we've come to learn about him, he spreads facts which aren't even true. Like someone else has already said, I'd much prefer to hear Uncle Roger speak instead of FLoyd
More skilled yes. As much of a beast? No. I still see Pac winning this. He will walk through too many of Floyds punches, and hurt him, imho.
He ain't bothered about support, he just wants people to tune in, whether it be to support him or to see him lose. It all adds up to the same thing to Floyd, money.
He won a bronze in the olympics and even that loss was questionable. So in his division in the amateurs, yes he was competing at the world level 15 years ago. Pac was fighting cab drivers in the Philippines 15 years ago.
I honestly think that he is craving for the love that boxing fans give to Pacquiao. Also, I already mentioned earlier that he can actually be the hero with the skills that he has. So why he prefers to act the part of the villain? He gets more fans to watch him if he their hero than if he is the villain.
Floyd actually listened to the criticism of him being a boring ******* when he fought Hatton. He turned up and fought like a man. I hope he does it again.
I prefer humble fighters, but that's exactly what he is once the final bell is done. He needs to project an image of complete confidence before the fight. Not give the opponent one little thought that he might win the fight, but once it's all said and done, Mayweather is a lovely guy. In any event, after he beats Manny, and possibly by knockout, it'll be pretty hard for fans to deny him and he knows that.
As I said he has a complex, and no playing the hero doesn't sell especially when u cant do it convincingly.
