its hard to say .. alot of great fighters never took on pryor so its hard to gauge how great he really is.. his performances against a past prime arguello is marked by controversy because of the panama lewis scandal... honestly id say floyd could outbox him at 140 floyd had respectable power and his ring IQ was prime
Because of Pryor swarming style you would definitely need a good defense to stay in this fight. Or some heavy fire power to stop his swarm. Floyd don't have the power but he does have the defense and skill to capitalize off of Pryor aggression.
toss up. both had the style to upset the other. if i had to choose, i would go with the hawk... i think he had greater determination.
Finally --- someone who would of given Floyd a very hard time --- maybe beating him. Aaron could box inside or outside, totally unorthodox, never knowing what's coming next, great speed and decent power and a real good chin. Definitely better than anything today. At 140 Pryor was one of the best ever.
Assuming the Hawk fights the same way off PED's as on, I pick him to beat Mayweather in an very entertaining bout.
Yes, I think it would be relentless pressure that would finally get to Floyd. It's sort of like hockey. You can have the best goalie in the world, but if you fire enough shots on him, sooner or later something will get by him. Same as boxing if you keep in throwing and you have a decent chin to catch what may be coming back, you'll eventually land some meaningful shots. This would be especially true of the Hawk, who throw punches as you said, very unorthodoxed and had great speed and good-great power.
I'm tempted to say Pryor, although i'm as huge fan of Floyd's. If Hatton and Augustus were able to force Floyd into a physical fight, you know Pryor would force him into an all-out WAR, and while i know Floyd can hold his own and then some in a firefight, i just don't know if any 140-pounder could have ever beaten Pryor in that kind of a fight. Then again, Floyd was at his absolute physical peak at 140, otherwordly fast and explosive, and could have established a great legacy at that weight if there would have been more big money fights there at the time and he would have stayed there for 2 or 3 more years. So in the end, i think i'm joining the toss-up section.
