Are you implying Ali didn't receive negative reactions for the **** he pulled and said at the time? :huh Also, why feel the need to point out African-American fighters? I said nothing about race, at all... Amir gets plenty of hate due to his mouth, I've also heard plenty of hate towards Pauli for his mouth.. Thing is they get hate for mouthing off about boxing relate ****, Floyd gets it for disrespecting his father!!

He doesn't stand for anything meaningful? He isn't pulling off the whole image he tries to portray? I'm lost, are we talking about boxing here? If being the minority here is ignoring the actions in a boxers personal life and judging them based off their in ring performance, I'm glad to be part of it. :thumbsup

Dude...EVERYONE gets negative feedback or reactions no matter who they are or what they do. Especially if you are someone of stature like Ali, PAC or Floyd.

The need to point out African American fighters is to keep things in the proper context. Had Floyd been German, white and the topic of discussion I would have compared someone of similar background.

You think Floyd gets hate just b/c of a heated argument with his pops? That's one of MANY situations that has filled Floyd's plate with negativity and media attention.

If you're having a hard time staying on topic I'll help you......Some wanted to compare ALI to Floyd..I simply killed that notion b/c there's no comparison. ALI stood for a lot of good things...he was also an ass hole to certain people especially Joe...but the good he's done far out weigh the bad. Floyd hasn't done **** outside of boxing that is equivalent to what Ali has done.

I'm all for talking about boxing...we can definitely get on that level if you want...but boxing has individuals who make up the sport and they have interesting lives and backgrounds. A lot of people are not just drawn to the sweet sceicne based on blood, guts, talent and skill....a lot of times the atheltes themselves transcends the the sport itself or are so compelling and interesting that it pulls "fans" in on a deeper level.

Why do you think boxing fans are so passionate?? They love the sport but also have a connection to the athletes who make up the sport. And sometimes that connection is one that is negative which Floyd knows a lot about. People want to see Floyd...not to win...but to see when he loses based on his "wanna be".."Gangsta" image he tries so hard to pull off but fails at.

Besides being a pawn for the Nation of Islam, who fed him all his lines like "Aint no viet cong call me n!gger", never renouncing his views, while his friend Malcolm X was getting gunned down for actually standing for something.

What did he stand for besides a racist ideology?

So you believe a million people pay 60 bucks just to see Mayweather lose?

Wrong. I read all the way up to that comment and it was completely out of left field.vvv
So I say again, what does being from the hood have to do with an argument between a father and son? You brought it up like you were making some kind of valid point. I'm just asking for clarification.

Bladerunner was simply saying that some of you must have been born in the perfect family to think this is so shocking. And then you go, oh, but, I know some guys in the hood who are shocked too.

So after all this back-n-forth B.S., we have come out of it learning that some fans don't have to like a athlete's personality to be a fan and some have to like a athlete's personality in order to be a fan.

    Sound about right?

I dont really care about his personal life. What I really care is him to fight the best out there and stop retiring and then make a comeback and cherrypick!

Floyds fighting the welterweight champion. Pacquiao's fighting a lightweight who Floyd outclassed 2 years ago.

    Who's cherry picking?
