I was thinking about the Mayweather SR-Judah connection for Zabs fight VS Mosley and I thought about how deep the Welterweight Division is nowadays.:think I thought about a scenario..............you have zab-mosley-DLH & Mayweather....(I see the winners of these fighting each other)....Maybe Zab Beats Mosley then PBF beats Oscar...then Mayweather - Judah 2 and Mayweather Sr seeks revenge on his son with his sons arch rival.....what do you guys think?:bbb then the winner of that whole fiasco fights the winner of the Cotto-Cintron-Margarito trio.....Judah-Mayweather 2 would do big numbers i believe especially if he beats Shane with Mayweather Sr help and Floyd whooopin DLH This content is protected
eehhh.... Mosley lost to Cotto Zab lost to Cotto and Mayweather DLH lost to Mayweather (twice) Can you see where this should go...
If Judah picks up some wins and improves I think the fight should definately happen. It's not as if Judah didn't win some rounds in the first one.
Shutout?? Judah knocked PBF down and won about 5 rounds including the first 4 before he got lazy like always. Judah is faster, hits harder, but doesnt have the desire to fight hard for 12 rounds anymore..[/quote] Watch the fight again. No way in hell Judah won round 3. Round 1 was a tossup. Given that there was no KD scored in round 2, you could make a good argument that Floyd won that round as well(he even outlanded Judah in that round). Round 4 was the only round that Judah definately won. I gave Judah 3 rounds, he won no more than 4, it was possible to only score 1 round for him(one judge actually did)
I know that, that occured in round 2. However, being that the KD wasn't scored, you could've scored the round to Floyd. However, round 3 was all Floyd. Now way he lost that round.
I, like everyone else, have been trying to figure out what is Floyd's weakness, and like everyone else came up emptyhanded. Then I rewatched the Zab fight and the answer became so obviously clear that I couldn't believe it. Floyd takes a looong time to warm up. He's very much like Margarito in that respect and if someone does a Paul Williams and sweeps the rounds of the first half of the fight and keeps the stamina in the later rounds for continual volume punches then he can beat Mayweather. Right now I think only Cotto has the stamina and ability to keep throwing all twelve rounds. But we can say Zab laid down the blueprint which reappeared with DLH and with Hatton but all three fighters lost their mojo in the second half of the fight. What do you guys think? Could the answer to the puzzle be that simple?
Judah scored a technical KD. Just because the ref didn't call it doesn't mean that it didn't happen. How many times have we seen blatant robberies in the past? Do we all say 'Oh, it was a robbery but because the official decision says that the guy who got beaten up won, I have to go with that'? No, we use common sense. Judah got the KD because Mayweather's glove touched the canvas. End of story. Did Judah win more than 4 rounds? Hell no. Did he deserve the KD? Yes.
good observation, but I don't think it is that simple. PBF generally uses rounds 1-4 as a feel out/warm up. I'm sure if the opportunity for a KO came in the 2nd round he would take it. DLH and Hatton fights were interesting b/c they both did start strong, and you saw the fatigue set in on them. This had less to do with their conditioning compared to PBF picking them apart throughout the fight. But your comments do make a lot of sense especially since everyone was saying PW would be pbf's most dangerous fight if he took it. PW has the work rate that you were talking about (prior to Q he was averaging 100 punches a round.. nothing behind those punches but they were still being thrown.). I wouldn't say Cotto though. I have seen him back off of throwing punches to 'box' and when you try to out box someone the caliber of PBF, it will be a lesson in futility.
You're right. I am thinking of just volume punches, regardless of whether effective or not. Just enough for Floyd to stay in a defense mode through most of the fight. It's when you stop throwing that Floyd comes out of his shell. What happens when someone doesn't stop throwing. Have we seen Floyd have to fight under this pressure? I'm not talking Hatton//Castillo pressure but more of a Paul Williams/Hearns style of range attack. I'm just a fan, not a boxer or critique, but I love trying to figure these questions out. Especially when someone is considered invincible.
Why not? Mayrunner is always looking for an easy win. Maybe Baldomir or Sharmba Mitchell no, wait, DeMarcus Corley would be a great rematch!
