Here's the problem with your theory, DLH and Hatton both lost 3 out of the first 4 rounds. Baldo lost every round, Mitchell lost every round, Gatti lost every round, Bruseles lost every round, Corely arguably didn't win any rounds, N'Dou won 1 round, Sosa won about two rounds the entire fight, Castillo lost the first 4 rounds of both fights. You see where I'm going? Judah was the only guy that possibly won many early rounds against Floyd. Even still, the only round he definately won was round 4(round 2 as well if you score the KD). The reason Judah was succesful, was because of his great handspeed, power, handidness and counter punching. He was able to get in punches that most fighters wouldn't be able to against Floyd.
I didn't see any knockdown in that fight ... Richard Steele didn't rule that a knockdown. It wasn't evidence of a knockdown because the camera didn't go down that far. Judah didn't win 5 rounds ... He won a couple of rounds but nothing significant. He didn't hurt Floyd ... at the end of the night Floyd was at the club making it rain and Zab was at the hospital.
No point to another fight with Judah ... Judah will just get the 3rd worst beating of his career. He will get knocked out by Floyd the second time around and no one would take that fight card seriously. It would tarnish Floyd's stellar resume.
No. God No! I'll step into la la land with you for a second and pretend Judah has any shot at all against Mosley. Why the hell would him beating Mosley get him a shot at Mayweather??? IF Judah gets by Mosley, he then has to fight either Quintana or the Marg/cint winner. Cotto gets the winner of Floyd/Oscar :deal
I agree. Judah is forced to take ass whoopings from the up and comers. He is a great name to put on a fighters resume.
I see Judah being a gatekeeper, fighting guys like Berto and Collazo and Clottey ... guys needing a stepping stone to get closer to a title.
No one counts that as an official knockdown ... maybe if you're a die hard Judah fan you will but there were no knockdowns during that fight. Just Zab getting a couple of rounds, and the rest of the fight being dominated by Floyd. Give Zab the first official beating of his career ....
Execellent post! Also Zab is a known front runner who always comes out fast and fades after about 5 or 6 rounds. I have no interest in a PBF-Zab rematch it will only be worse for Zab the second time around.
