You have no idea just how Rich CBS actually is do you? advertisers alone make up for a large chunk of their profits. Khan probably will only make 4 million. 45 million is nothing to them

cbs isnt making the fight. showtime is. cbs have other things to worry about. it never even mentioned showtime hired floyd in cbs/s recent quarterly report, only there was an uptick in the "subscription/affilliate" part of their business, which could be attributed to "big bang theory" as you mentioned for all we know. didnt even mention showtime itself.

are you saying now there advertisements on ppv? are you sure we are talking abouth the same fight?

seems like you have your data mixed.

CBS were the ones that OK'd this deal for Showtime. Showtime and CBS are partners because CBS doesn't have a PPV format (like HBO had with TVKO in the 90s-early 2000s)

Floyd already has a set amount that he is able to make as his contract states so he wouldn't be making as much as he did for the Canelo bout or probably even the Guerrero bout, which is a good thing.

So you think Showtime's budget just came out of nowhere?

Floyd “Money” Mayweather Jr. made a killing for CBS when he beat Saul “Canelo” Alvarez on September 14 during the Showtime pay-per-view broadcast. In fact, the fight is the highest-grossing fight in PPV history, with $150 million in revenue being generated from the 2.2 million PPV buys.

You're a ******* why do you care so much about pbf? Why do you make multiple threads about pbf weekly? Why do you talk more about pbf than his fans do?

of course the income ultimately is going to reflect on cbs's bottomline, they are the parent company.

same with the budget, the allocation comes from the parent company.

    im not disputing this.

im saying, showtime is given a budget. then it allocates it to its programming (movies, tv shows, sports, etc.). now the showtime guy (this could be expinocha) decides the bulk of boxing budget goes to gbp and a big portion to pirating mayweather from hbo, and some to independent promoters.

cbs doenst decide how showtime spend it's budget, just that the investment is going to net the most profit.

or showtime can present a number of plans and cbs could decide to approve and disappove. thats between them. bottomline, they have to make money off their investment.

    partnership is different.

    and stop laughing about yourself.

edit: and umm, in tougher times like this, you dont normally ask for budget. budget is normally forced unto you and you have to fit your plans within the budget allocated.

and CBS approved, because they knew Mayweather would make them money. He's not going to make more than what his contract detailed and probably won't ever make what he did against Canelo again.

CBS knew this before anything was agreed upon.

doesnt mean cbs will manage floyd or subsidized his fights.

there is a department or section of cbs that does the managing, and it is called showtime and espinocha is their top guy.

there is budget allocated and espinocha spent it on mayweather.

if the floyd project flopped it's his head.

what big bang does or any other show/project has nothing to do with mayweather.

    Nothing has flopped though.

their big budget for floyd would be floated by CBS' and showtime's programming.

too early to tell. he isnt even halfway there.

also, we dont know the detalis of the contract like how would they split the revenue, who has the final say on opponents and if floyd has an opt out clause, etc.

what is clear is that, floyd's money it appears is guaranteed, with maybe some caveats, though i think they are minor.

also, showtime lost in the guererro fight and recovered more than enough in the canelo fight.

so for now, you can say, on average, showtime is 2-0 with 4 to go.

and putting pac in the 3rd fight is a risky proposition because he can ruin the rest of the fights.

putting pac in the 4th is 50/50, because even if floyd loses, the fight can pretty much cover no.5 and no.6.

putting pac fight at at the last fight has drawback has well because even if floyd wins, the fight itself maybe not even half than if the fight is at no.4 which is late 2014.

everything has be put in their proper perspective and what fight at what time will they make the most return.

but that is just the business part.

but this is boxing so obviously, there is the sport part, where fans expect to see the best fight the best.

business part maybe alright, but there is also floyd's "0" that he may want to protect and to him is more valuable than all the money he can get the duration of the contract.

so he might opt not to fight pac the rest of his contractif he feels there is a great risk of him losing, which is shared by many fans, including me.

Might as well wait for the fights to clear up at 147 Broner Maidiana Ortiz then make a choice....

Manny is also looking like he needs a lottery ticket to help him with his 68 mill in tax debt......

Why rush to sign a fight with Khan, it aint like people accept that match anyway.......
