    He picks Canelo over GGG and even through knockout. What does he see that we don't? Is it Canelo's iron jaw? His insane handspeed? Better stamina due to age?

    I would still pick GGG, but damn, he might have a point. I will favour the underdog though and support GGG in this fight.

    He picks Canelo because he beat Canelo! If G destroys Canelo it makes FM's win look diminished in a way.

    It's the same reason Carl Froch is now backing George Groves - a man he hates. It's why he and Smith back Ward to the hilt.

    You can't expect a fighter who has fought someone - win or lose - to score that fighters future fights totally objectionally.

    I can see why someone would think Canelo wins... but in Floyds case, its not hard to see why he picks a fighter he handled with ease to beat the fighter people are hyping up so much. Mayweather is far too petty and egotistical for me to put much stock into what he says.

    Though I will say... he has always talked up Canelo... has always showered him with compliments. So he may genuinely believe Canelo is a great fighter.

    Plus who the hell takes Floyd's words for granted. Dude has phd in boxing, but he's a walking agenda also

    Yes exactly,his win over Canelo was just beautiful to watch and the margin so wide one has to wonder if Canelo was his toughest ever opponent?
    He can keep on the reteric about Canelo beating GGG but the facts are there that Mayweather beat Canelo so easily that to say he's his best opponent just doesn't hold water?

    Well the diehard Floyd fans are in a bit of a jam today as he said Kovalev beat Ward and most of them - not all - out of patriotic bias claim Andre deserved the decision.

    This has left them more confused than a chameleon in a bowl of skittles.
