I've watched Mosley his entire career and without hesitiation I and most any other boxing fan who's seen him all along will tell you that being confident in his own ability has been one of his major weaknesses during fights........

In just about every fight where he's ran into adversity, he's failed to make the in ring adjustments that were necessary to turn the tide around.

His fights with both Forrest and Wright he could never make the adjustment necessary and he wore that dissapointment on his sleeve inbetween rounds.....it was evident when he was at a loss for confidence.

The mental part of the game has never been a strong point for Mosley.
The lone fights where he prevailed when encountering adversity were the DLH fights, and that mostly had to do with DLH's stamina issues down the stretch that had Mosley in both fights physically being able to outwork DLH down the stretch while DLH lowered his workrate.

.....But I'll even point to both those DLH fights......
The first DLH fight, Mosley's father/trainer literally had to sooth his ego and coddle him like a baby and remind a dejected Mosley midrounds that "we've gone through this in training camp Shane, lets turn it around etc....."

.....a confidence issue midrounds again in the rematch with DLH.....
When DLH was winning the mid-rounds, Mosley Sr. told Shane inbetween rounds, "you're faster than he is Shane, punch with him" or something to that effect.

....Mosley responded, "his hook is quicker than mines."
I think that showed how confident Mosley was in his ability to use his own skills."
Mosley had been caught with a good left hook of DLH, and it demoralized Mosley so much that he was unwilling to hook with DLH because of the taste of one particular punch.
.......again, DLH's stamina issues lead to his defeat again at the hands of Mosley.

Anyone that saw those Mosley DLH fights knows what I'm talking about when it relates to Mosley and his issues with confidence.

.......my point being that looking at it now in hinsight, its not suprising that Mosley quit fighting vs Pacquiao after tasting power.
He looked like wanting to quit both times vs DLH.......and I will say that soothing Mosley's ego and reminding him of the hard work thats been done and what needed to be done was a strongsuit of Mosley Sr.

Not that it would have helped a fighter like Mosley that no longer has it.......but I'm pretty confident that had his dad been in his corner vs Pacquiao, Mosley would have been talked into making a stand as his dad would have lit some kind of fire under his belly.

I'll say this, I'm a Mosley fan, and I felt saddened that to see Mosley just shut it down after being dropped.
    Saddened, but not suprised.:?

    Best post you ever made.

I also feel saddened and I think people are way to hard on Mosley.

obviously, you had the wrong, inaccurate sources for the punch stats of the pac-mosley fight. you should've used the same source where you got the mayweather punch stats so that maybe you could've avoided commiting an error. in your haste to discredit pac, you didn't get your numbers from a more reliable source and/or verified if these punch stats were really accurate.

there is only one reliable source of punch stats and that's direct from compubox. some boxing sites got these these numbers wrong since their source obviously wasn't compubox. after all, not everything that you read in the internet is true.

Aside from the false information given by the thread starter(Compubox has ALWAYS been the most accurate source in terms of stats in boxing), you people should take into account that Mosley ran while NOT throwing punches almost at all, that's why Pac had trouble against him. Mayweather will run BUT he will still throw ALOT more punches than Mosley did while running against Pac. Now what does that mean? It means as great a defensive fighter Floyd is he'll still be more vulnerable than Shane against Pac. Unlike Shane, Floyd will throw punches on Pac whenever he sees openings, which means Floyd will be in range of Pac's punches more than Shane was.

Remember running while not throwing punches(Mosley) is VASTLY different than running while throwing punches(albeit in Floyd's case its few punches, but still more than Shane's).

That's because Mosely didn't run and back pedaled against Floyd as he did against Pacquiao yesterday. :D

The only source for the compubox stats the Stupid Russian listed were boxing scene. Not from showtime.

The only source I have found to list the numbers the Stupid Russian posted above were from the scene.

From the research I've done, Showtimes stats were completely different,.

I'd like to know where these numbers are coming from. SHowtime who did the fight had completely different numbers? Did the Scene get it from the Ring? Did the Ring count independently?
