its very well known that mayweather would beat pacquiao but before the cotto fight behind the mayweather vs pacquiao debate there was always cotto in the backround it was said by reporters way back since 2004 that there is a big chance that cotto would beat mayweather. now that claim was put to rest for a while because pacquiao became a huge star. but in back of most of real boxing fan they wanted to c mayweather vs cotto because there was talks about the fight for almost 8-9 years of them fighting together. so once mayweather beat cotto his legacy was sealed on top 10 best fighters ever. just like pacquiao his legacy is set with marquez because if it wasnt for marquez pacquiao would not be where he is today. thats y for pacquiaos legacy to be sealed on top 10 or 15 he really has to knock out marquez. after that it wont matter if he fights floyd or not just like it dont matter to floyd because he already beat cotto with out contraversity and the pacquiao vs mayweather to boxing historians it wont matter because they both beat their opponents who a lot of people thought they would beat mayweather or pacquiao

Even if Floyd beat Pacquiao there would be someone else he didn't fight. He won't get DUE credit until a few years after he retires.

    WTF is this garbled nonsense?

First off, NOBODY knows what would happen if Mayweather and Pac fight, that's kind of the reason we want to see them fight.

Second, Cotto was supposed to fight Mayweather but so was Margarito, Mosley and other fighters that Mayweather held off until the time was right.

No offense, you sound like a Cotto fan but Cotto isn't the same fighter he once was. Even though he gave a good fight to Mayweather, let's be real here, he won 4 rounds tops. When was the last time a fighter won 4 out of 12 rounds and we were congratulating him for that? He did well but was beaten clearly and soundly by Mayweather and I don't think it was as big of a victory as it should have been if Mayweather would have fought a prime Cotto.

I think it's hilarious when I read this type of stuff. It makes me wonder if you've ever seen a Mayweather fight at all. This is a guy who called out Shane and ODLH in 1999! Also, just for your edification the best chance a Cotto, Pac are a Margarito(all of which would have no shot at a win) would be now, not anytime in the past!

A prime Cotto was probably at 140lbs and would've eaten jabs until he couldn't see anymore. Oh wait a minute sound familiar? Cotto vs Mayweather in 2005 or 06? Really? Game film my man! Game film!

I think that dude started watching Boxing last week.

Fight Margarito or ODLH? Tough choice.

Cotto did his best work at 154. None of these guys wants to see Mayweather at or below 140. That would be a massacre.

Pac? Yeah. The guy who looked like a clown against JMM. The guy who didn't want 50/50 and a 14 day cut off when offered. The guy who didn't take $40 million GUARANTEED when offered. Just got beaten for $6 million guaranteed and did a 900k PPV. Yeah, Mayweather is ducking this guy.

I don't know where these people come from. :huh

It's KNOWN that Floyd will beat Pac.... guess I'll keep waiting until it finally happens.

  13. Mayweather missed the boat phought Gatti a virtual nothing at 140 instead of a legacy fight with KOSTA and 147 missed cream of crop by leaving.
Still lacking a prime p4p monster win, needs winner of sergio chav jr or pac

Gatti was the money man at 140. Zu never happened because PBF promoter at the time, you might have heard of him Bob Arum.

PBF announced that he was gonna fight one more fight (because he broke his hand and he needed a rest) after the Baldmir fight. At that time Cotto was at 140 and SSM was at 154, the division heated up a bit after that time . . . unless you think that ****ing bum Margocheato was ever anything. Oh Yes, I forgot uncle Bob was saying he would pay PBF a career high payday 8mill to fight him. But wait a second . . . he fought Baldy instead of the Plaster master for 8mill for the green belt and lineal title (Baldy was rated Number 1 in the division at the time BTW). Then he fought the Big money fight against ODLH @ 154 (But Margo was a bigger threat at 147 right?) Then he fought the big money fight against hatton for more than double of a margo fight.

Chico was a rated higher and was #5 p4p when he had a unification bout against PBF @135. Man people who did not start watching boxing until Pac came around should really stop talking ****

  15. gatti was the man at 140? So was Yuri Foreman at 154.
U smoking crack? Chico is a lesser version of paul williams.
