and has he ever been unfied?? I rmemebered Corrales had the IBF but they stripped him before the fight so Mayweather is really going for everything in this fight!! Lineal titles, unified champ, young (highly regarded) champ who just beat a very good opponet in Trout. Man i can only see a classic coming!!

I say Mayweather 7-5, has to dig deep in the early rounds to keep Canelo off of him. wins mid rounds but Canelo always has spirts and the crowd will influence the judges (dlh fight that wasnt close at all)

Only thing Mayweather CANT DO is lay on the ropes! I know his defense is top 5 ever but Canelo throws some serious combos with great accuracy. Great body work from Canelo.

Canelo has a chance folks and im one of the biggest Mayweather fans out there. LETS GET IT!!!

Why is Floyd the lineal champion at 147? I really hope you guys aren't citing the Guerrero fight for that claim...

He has been the lineal champ since he beat baldo, and if you wanna say he retired cool..since then hes beaten the #1 guy mosley, the #2 guy ortiz and the #3 guy guerrero..not to mention he has a win over the current #2 guy Marquez

I can see that logic behind that position, as well as those who want to claim he should've become the lineal champion at welter when he beat Mosley. Both of those claims are highly contestable insofar as first it's questionable whether Mayweather should have still been seen as lineal given his retirement and second it's questionable whether Mayweather-Mosley should have established a new lineage.

I just want to combat the idea that he became lineal against Guerrero because it was for the completely worthless Ring belt.
