In the later rounds of a 12 round fight. He clearly won the fight, but I think he also showed that if you hurt him, you can make him behave different. We have seen him hurt before in fights, like against Mosley, but he was able to recover and reestablish that he was still the more confident guy in the ring. Against Maidana, he did not appear the same confident fighter. He gave away a championship round, which isnt something I think he would have ever done not long ago. He was content to win, but made no attempt to shine. Is this his age showing, or his realization of his own mortality? One thing about Manny Pacquiao is that he tries to win EVERY round at all costs. Floyd needs to stop him before 8 to win the fight in my opinion and I think that will happen, but he needs to know that he can hurt him early in the fight for this to happen. If his best right hands dont seem to bother Manny, Floyd will fight a more cautious fight and possibly lose some later rounds. Once Manny finds a way to win rounds, he will keep winning them.

Manny can be discouraged. It's not that he stops trying necessarily. But, he can be lulled into doing the same thing, which is not working. The 3rd Marquez fight was a recent example of that. He wasn't hurt. But, he couldn't really figure out how to get the upper hand on Marquez and it showed.

Actually, I think it's Floyd who is constantly trying to figure out how to win rounds against his opponent. Even when hurt, he never appears discouraged. His wheels are always turning. I think it was the 12th he let go in the Maidana 2 fight. But, he had the fight won by then. And he was hurt at the end of the 4th, when Maidana rung his bell.

If he can't get a beat on Manny by the 5th round, I think we may see Floyd discouraged for the first time. But, that's a big IF. Manny fights in a pattern, which I think Floyd can pick up on.
