Boxing king Floyd Mayweather, one of the top athletes in the world today, "made a wish" come true yesterday for one of his biggest fans when he met Armando Carral, a 17-year old Hodgkin's disease patient who asked to meet the boxing Champion through the Make-A-Wish Foundation, a non-profit organization that grants the wishes of children with life-threatening diseases. "This is a rewarding experience and I'm grateful to be in the position where I can make a difference in Armando's life,..He is a very nice young man and I would like to congratulate him for staying strong and finishing high school...Armando has met challenges that many of us will never see in our lives, He is strong and so is his family." -Floyd Mayweather Jr. "I am so happy to meet Champion Floyd Mayweather,..I am a big fan of such a great boxer and I admire him for his hard work and belief in himself. I am a believer too." -Armando Carral "I am very happy for this opportunity for my son,..He has always wanted to meet Floyd and thank you to Floyd and Make-A-Wish Foundation." -Maria Carral It's good to the P4P champ giving back to the community. Hopefully young Armando makes a full recovery.
Whatever it is, Floyd could have said "no" and he isn't making any money off it. Big ups to Floyd here. :good
now he should join the "boxing community make a wish foundation" and make the ****ing fight with manny happen!
Mayweather comes through the media as an absolute ******* and there's probably some truth in his image, but he's one of the nicest guys coming to fans and giving back to the community, shame he didn't build his image on that side.
"Boxing King Floyd Mayweather" :rofl talk about delusional LOL but seriously, all jokes aside, its nice to see boxers giving back. Especially the p4p runner-up and 2nd best of 2000-2009
According to Ellerbee, Floyd tries to avoid getting too much attention for his charitable acts; it defeats the purpose.
