What Forbes forgot to put in is how much money each fighter really has in their possession. Pac doesn't owe money as much as floyd does. The real question is who has MORE money in their pockets. LOL
That ain't the real question i' m afriad. This sport is a business it's all about how much money you can generate. It's clear by those stats that mayweather is not insane to think he deserves more at this present moment. But 60-40 is to much.
So if ali wanted 60/40 vs foreman because ali had been generating millions and millions more? even though foreman was the man to beat and the champ??? Come the **** on. This **** ruins boxing.
You make it sound like this is something new. This has been going on for years, way before Mayweather and Pac was a blip on the radar. What they are doing is nothing new. And yes it does ruin the sport.
Didn't Mayweather take a smaller cut to get the fight with De La Hoya made? Why was that? That's right, because De La Hoya brought more money in than Mayweather. Fast forward to 2010 and who brings in the most money now? So if we know who brings in the most money then isn't it only fair that he takes the most out?
Didn't DLH have way more PPV sales and was a way bigger star than floyd? Pac and Floyd's celebrity is pretty much equal. This isn't even comparable. Floyd vs judah and baldomir??? combined 500,000? People paid to see oscar knock floyd out. That was it. get over this idea that floyd is some beloved boxing superstar.
everyone should be able to agree by now that 50/50 is not a fair deal. It's a fantastic deal for Manny, not so much for Floyd. I'd love Floyd to accept it, for the sake of making the fight, but it would mean he'd have lost at the negotiating table. 50/50 was once on the table. Now it's not, nor should it be.
