your clearly forgetting that cash is king here, it doesnt matter if people are paying to see floyd lose or to win, point is he brigs more bums on seats. or in this case ppv sales. it aint about defending him its about letting you guys understand how boxing works:hi: thats what business is all bout
When was this interview? I'm sure I've heard this before, or him saying something similar a while back.
Anyone wanna take a stab at the next reason floyd will say this fight shouldn't happen? Oh, and how many floyd fans will suddenly agree with it having never thought it for themselves?
and joyboys will still defend floyd saying pac is lucky to get 1% against their floyd. for them anything floyd says or demands is fair.
Of course it's comparable, Mayweather brings in more money than Pacquiao and that isn't even up for debate anymore, so why shouldn't he realistically expect to take more out? Nobody is saying that De La Hoya to Mayweather at the time is a similar size gap to Mayweather and Pacquiao is now and nobody is saying the split should be that big either, what is clear is that Mayweather brings more in and should expect to take more of that out. Nobody can come up with a legitimate financial reason why Pacquiao is worth 50/50 yet they Mayweather is wrong for not accepting it? **** off with that shite.
The audio cuts off abrupt which makes me believe that it's an old recording. Even though i believe the substance of what is being said is probably more relevant now than it was when it was recorded if it happens to be recorded pre mosley fight.
The problem is...I can't remember anyone mentioning Pacquiao doesn't deserve 50-50 until Mayweather said it.
It was perfectly fine in the first rounds of negotiation. But somehow because may/mosley did bigger numbers than pac/clottey and we don't even need to mention why, suddenly pac is not a draw and floyd is some super mega star making this fight single handedly.
50-50 is fair before for all because of the magnitude of this fight. but once floyd has upped his demand, some of his fans are starting to say a different tune. they will defend his **** because they know that it will be floyd's fault if this fight is not made.
It wasn't mentioned much at the time because Mayweather agreed to it back then although a few people said that Pacquiao was lucky to be getting it, since then Mayweather done more with Mosley than Pacquiao had done with anyone, even De La Hoya who was the PPV king at the time and Cotto, a man who Roach said would draw twice as much money than Mosley.
