The negotiations for mayweather-marquez are still ongoing, and the issue of weight, not money, continues to be the biggest issue. The ppv date and venue is locked for july 18th.

Floyd wants the fight closer to 147 and juan wants the fight closer to 140.

Marquez told the scene that he was willing to go up as high as 143/144 to make the fight. Nacho has said that 143 is their target catch-weight for mayweather.

Floyd will win, more than likely by KO.

Still a top fighter fighting another top fighter and worth watching. It should be fun while it lasts. After this let's hope that Mayweather takes on what people see as the real challenges. Let's see Mayweather vs PWilly/Cotto/Mosley.

Weight won't stop this fight from going forward. 143 is a good number.

No mate. Last time Marquez was at the top of his game was Pacquiao 2. Since that fight he's been on the slide. Still phenominal but noticeably slowing and ageing. And you can be sure all the punishment he took from Diaz will only further that. Add to that fighting WAY over of his natural weight....

I love Marquez i dont want to see him get a sound beating.

He's ****ed either way though. The only way he CAN fight in a superfight is to fight way over his weight, whether its Manny or Floyd, or even Ricky.

If Floyd can make it, why not. He can say he beat the no.2 p4p after a layoff, make lots of money as JMM is a good draw himself with the right opponent. I give JMM a good chance at 143.

I wouldn't mind seeing this fight but to be honest I can't see anything but a easy decision for PBF. He might carry him for a while to get the rounds under his belt but he should be able to finish it around round 5 if he wants. Really like Marquez but this is a step way too far for him.
