Fight is almost done and Im hapy the deal got done. Should be a good fight and by Mayweather taking the fight from 142-144, he has a chance to make 140 and fight for the lineal champ at 140 like he tried to do against Hatton in 2005 but Hatton didnt take the fight. I know alot of ppl want him to fight a WW and everything, but im just happy the fight got done and JMM is no cupcake. its not like mayweather has been at WW for years, hes actually not that big and the size difference really isnt a factor.

I think Mayweather wins but not a masscare, JMM is one of the smarest boxers in the game and a great counter puncher. if JMM can pull this off and beat Mayweather....I couldnt imangine the boxing world and what would happen, so might as well take the fight and go for it. And can Mayweather take almost 2 years off and just beat JMM like its nothing?? Cant wait, what do you guys think??

Only the weight is an issue. If they do fight in a catchweight 143 or 145 then marquez should jump on mayweather right away. Attack from the begginning to test if the weight loss will affect mayweather.

I dont really like either boxers so it would be nice to see somebody gets a beating:lol:

Just read through the article and apparently they've settled to a weight under 145lbs. Not sure if that's a good or a bad thing for JMM because it's clear that PBF isn't quite as quick and fluid at 147 as he was at 140 and below. So the weight might actually make him better.

Then again Floyd would have a lesser size advantage here and that inturn might save Marquez from taking too bad a beating and getting KOed. I don't know, but it sets up as a very interesting fight. Hopefully it gets all signed and done with by the end of this week.

I think Mayweather wins this but after 2 years off and Marquez being a great boxer should be a good fight.

Yes it will be competitive but Marquez will be taking lots of clean shots down the stretch. We'll see how he holds up.

    Mayweather TKO.

This fight will have a huge hype atmosphere around it, but the fight will no doubt be boring.

Hopefully it has a great undercard.

Does anyone else think this is ridiculous? Marquez is in his late 30's and is a lightweight. Actually, he only relatively recently moved up to lightweight. Mayweather came up through the ranks but he a natural welterweight these days.

It kind of depends on how settled Mayweather got at 147.

Other fighters in their 30s have moved up and then down in weight and performed poorly (SRL, DLH, RJJ). PBF seemed pretty undersized at WW in his first 3 fights, but then he moved up to fight at JMW (150 lbs), and then looked more like a solid WW against Hatton. Not a big one of course, but a little more suited to the weight.

I'm sure he stayed in shape during his "retirement", but maybe he did less weight training (losing some muscle weight)????

This is JMMs big chance to pull even with his paisanos if not ahead of them. JMM by KO.
