He's just trying to sharpen up in the event that Canelo gets a robbery W, so he can challenge him at a 154.1lb CW fight for the MW title.
Ofc, if GGG KO3s Canelo, Floyd will assess Manny's performance vs Horn, Cotto's performance vs Kamegi, and maybe take a stab at BJS at 155.

 

As for the actual farce.

Even a 50 y/o Floyd should easily hit McGregor with a counter harder than anything he's ever felt.

 

lol fight nightit's been 9yrs 8mos since his last KO. He's not KOing anything.

Though macgregor barely has a gas tank for 3rd ufc fights so i could see him quitting on the stool come 5th rd.

 

mcgregor will be gassing hard by round 5 and will start eating shots and might quit on his stool by round 7 from exhaustion. floyd will wait til the pop is gone from conors left and then he will go in for the kill against a helpless, open mouthed mcgregor.

floyd will be hated more than ever and will use that hate to set up a mega money mma fight against conor. that fight will make floyd a billionaire.

everyone involved could increase their net worth by 5 times, with this set up. if floyd and connor agree to fake a ko, they could easily sell it as real due to the gullibility of the unwashed masses, and the unprecedented situation. a lucky punch by a proven hard hitter who fights in a different style to anything floyd has seen, and everyone is set for life... then the real rematch for even more dough.

 

I'd say more like 1 in 1000.

McGregor has a very basic background in boxing. It takes years and years of practicing boxing to become a world class fighter, and that even then, most fighters don't become world class.

It's like taking someone who competes in the decathlon and expecting him to beat Usain Bolt in the 100.

World champions and contenders in boxing haven't been able to land that one unlikely KO shot on Floyd, the chances of a boxing novice like McGregor landing it is super slim.

It seems there are a decent amount of MMA/McGregor fans who actually seem confident that McGregor will win.

...but when I do, it's from articles like this. I'm not a fan of this fight, either, but if I can watch it for free, I will. This lady is a joke of a reporter trying to push her agenda.

Damn near boxing fan has known about Floyd having issues with putting hands of women for a long time. A lot of great boxers have histories of hitting women. Sad but true.

It makes the news more now because he's a bigger mainstream star. I remember people kept talking about it leading up to the Pacquiao fight in 2015, when Floyd almost had the Gatti fight cancelled in 2005 due to an assault case, he did some jail time in 2012 for a domestic incident in the summer of 2010.
