Mayweather/McGregor Fight Discussion

Cliff notes? This fight is meaningless so a thesis on why it sucks... c'mon cliffs?

 

Me too! I always said MMA guys are very tough, but I think that they show a lower skill level than elite boxers

 

Everything can happen in boxing, more likely an injury. Imagine Floyd has to quit because of an injury like Glazkov or Haye. MMA fans would say Conor was too much for him, causing him to get injured.

 

How do you think it will go? You are very knowledgeable what would you tell Coner in his corner? I'm of two opinions, 1. Coner will be totally defensive ,try to keep his chin down, and drag it out as long as possible throwing the occasional haymaker.2. He'll try to storm Floyd about 60 seconds into the fight and go for broke. 1. is the most probable

 

You've obviously never been in a real fight. In a real fight with two guys who train to hit really hard and are at the top of their respective combat sports, whoever lands the first punch will win.

 

What does Coner do well? footwork no, head movement no, defense no, this is literally a golden glove novice vs a world boxing champion.

 

I'd do this:

Train Conor on footwork all day, every day. Make sure he's as conditioned as can possibly be. Teach him to keep his gloves up, chin down. His only remote hope is to be able to chase Floyd down and go to the body like a maniac. Push Floyd's 40 year old body into overdrive and hope to land enough on the body that he slows down late. Maybe get Ward to teach him his secret "Iron Fist to the Soft Coconut" technique. If by some miracle Floyd is gasping for air in the late rounds, Conor could even win.

Oh, and I'd spread rumours that Conor has basically given up and isn't even training, because he knows he's getting schooled. I'd also send round a 10/10 hooker dusted in coke to Floyd's residence with a specil "message" for him.

Hey, I see no other way for McGregor to win.

MMA stand up looks like ****. Just watch McGregor vs Diaz. Chin? Its straight up ability to take a punch. MMA fighters can't take a punch. A 50 year old Ray Mercer went over to MMA and we know how Silva came out of that...

 

You know the you're a tool when you have to start by telling someone else whom you don't know, what they don't know.
