so is Hopkins; he has no chance but I think you are just trying to convince people to put bets on McG and I am Ok with that, we need even better odds, let the insanity continue

How can Mayweather be rusty when he is sparring every day with numerous different sparring partners?

Muscle memory is an amazing thing.

I'll be surprised if McGregor lands anything cleaner to the head than a grazing shot, or anything better than a decent body shot.

Gigantic mismatch. McGregor could have the ghosts of Ray Arcel and Angelo Dundee working his corner, he still would not be competitive.

This is a circus show and simply a moneymaker, nothing resembling competitive sports. It's a boxing match between an ATG boxer who has been boxing his whole life and someone who hasn't boxed competitively in over a decade. McGregor's muscle memory is designed to excel in a different sport, in which some basic boxing is used.

Come on, there is a difference between general intelligence and in the ring intelligence. I give you ricky Hatton who is a very one dimensional boxer, but Canelo,Cotto, Pacquiao and Mosley are not fighters who lack ring IQ.

The strategies you suggested that you believe would give a fighter a edge are deployed by even low rank amateur club fighters that you see in gyms. Looking your opponent in the eye, trash talking, feinting, watching tapes of opponents, hurling bombs. All these little things occur naturally however more often than not, they are not enough to make the difference. Why? Because when it comes down to it, footwork, speed, timing and ability prevail and you can't teach and develop these things over night.

These things matter because boxing is a sport, you don't just jump in the ring, try and pull a Tom and Jerry circus clown trick to put off your opponent and win.

You even said, most jabs boxers throw are weak and do not have any power behind it  This is moronic,

Here is Canelo and Cotto firing a jab that you believe has no power

A boxers jabs would knock out most laymen and usualy snaps the head back of their opponents. The reason they do not look like they have an effect most of the time is mainly due to the other guy either being very conditioned or has the reflexes and movement to avoid or deflect the power out of the shot.

Fighting is not fighting, otherwise you or anyone on this board could jump in the ring and reach the top within a few years with some limited boxing skills with a few months or years practice. You are comparing someone who has a life's body work dedicated to mastering boxing to someone who has only spent a few months refining that skill with only a limited grasp and background of. It is like expecting a generalised doctor who has a limited understanding of the brain, to out perform a specialised doctor in neuroscience.

I take umbridge with your comments because you are try to pass off that you have a better idea how to approach a fight, than professional elite athletes with world class teams behind them and boil boxing down to simple bro science tricks

Your thoughts, methods and tactics are wasted on the internet. Why don't you get yourself into the corner? Freddie Roach cant have much left have you considered taking over his Gym? Just think of all the Boxing & MMA World Champions that could do with your expert insight!!

"He's a warrior, that's what I do know about Conor McGregor," said Mayweather. "He's going to fight to the end. He's approaching this fight like I'm approaching this fight. It's kill or be killed. Believe me when I say this: It's not going to be a dull fight."

    Source B__scene.

Floyd was an offensive fighter when he was "Pretty Boy", but not this time.
He will not go toe to toe with Mcgreggor, he never did against with a one-armed Manny and never will.

He will wait for Mc Greggor to get tired then he will go for the KO.

May is maybe even more dominant on this inside vs on distance against Connor.

From what I've seen from MMA you never fight (box) in the clinch, you start wrestling or start throwing knees. And Connor presumed punching power is full punches, get up close and Connor has no use of that or any of the "boxing" (wich is only outside/mid fighting) that goes on in the octagon.

That long 3min x 5 is about the limit of attention the target audience here has. Anything longer and it'll be jumped upon in internet forums as a borefest regardless if Mayweather's showcasing his extraordinary talent. You see The WWF/MMA/UFC crowd don't get Boxing as a skill. They prefer Men rolling around cuddling on the floor.
Thats why their is a mammoth long BS talking build up it's what this crowd fall hook line and sinker for all the time.
I wonder if they'll even bother with an undercard as that may not only take a bit of limelight of the headline act with decent Boxing matches. The 'Celebrity look at me crowd'' rarely bother turning up untill the main event so the place will be empty for 95% of the bill.(I guarantee even the arrival of these will be managed too with an ever more famous wannabe each time). How's someone with the attention span of a Goldfish going to stomach the rest of the bill?
If I was Floyd I wouldn't waste time and money paying for an undercard and just get a £100,000,000's of worth giro sourced cash for myself all for the easiest 10 minutes work in his life.
