Mayweather will stand closer to Conor. Conor is a counterpuncher and the skills gap would be so apparent that Mayweather would have to impose a bit of a fight.

A couple of thousand will probably go to Mallignaggi for hyping the fight. Actually, Malignaggi is now calling out Connor for a real fight. So that also promises him some very lucrative revenue. So it all ties together nicely.

Remember, nobody gave Pacquaio a chance against De La Hoya. When Pacquaio crushed him, everyone made excuses why Pacquaio won.

I imagine that this fight will play out the same way.

Think about it. Mayweather wanted NO part of Margarito. This guy is much better than Margarito.

I think the common consensus by most boxing fans, including me, was that McGregor was like an oaf and couldn't possibly land a punch. None of us did our homework. None of us watched any of his prior training videos where he exhibited, speed, movement, combination punching, and exceptional footwork on the bag.

I admit that I didn't even watch any of his fights, but some highlights at best, which really didn't give me much indication of his skills and ability. Then after the Van Heerden sparring video, I thought that Floyd would absolutely knock him out.

Then I watched his fights and I realized that many of the defensive lapses he had were because his hands were position in such a way to block incoming kicks, which left him open to punches. I believe that just like Malinaggi, said, "He improved dramatically."

After the first released picture of Malinaggi, I thought that perhaps I was wrong in my initial assessment and McGregor had more of a chance than I thought. Like many on this board, I got mad. I made excuses. Then I watched him train and I realized that I shouldn't be mad and I shouldn't make excuses. It's not just any fighter coming from the UFC. I realized it's a special fighter that just happens to have the best hands in MMA.

After the second sparring session and after the photos were released, I didn't believe a word Malinaggi said, as I knew he got the **** beat outta him. I knew he was knocked down by the way he looked in the picture. Sure enough, I was proven to be right and I also saw things in that short clip that made other boxers SHOOK. They didn't do their homework.

So now what's going to happen? Well, if they decide on 8 oz gloves, Floyd might get knocked out in the first round. If they have 10 oz gloves, maybe Floyd can survive, but I think this fight is FAR more dangerous than a Margarito fight ever would have been.

McGregor is going to use a Calzaghe like style, but with more movement, more angles, and he'll be more dirty. He'll dominate Mayweather in the clinch, and one clean shot could floor Mayweather. He'll also outweigh Mayweather by 25 lbs.

I don't understand why Mayweather would have taken this fight. Look at how roughed up he was against Maidana. He's an older fighter against a guy that is going to make him work every second of the fight. It was a stupid fight.

If Mayweather can somehow beat this guy, it will be considered a masterclass in my opinion. Popular opinion needs to change and realize that McGregor has a MUCH better chance at this than anybody previously believed.

The only way to know is to tune in, 26th August.

Why is he not better than Margarito though? Margarito on paper was very dangerous for Floyd because he was larger, had in inch in reach, could absorb punishment like no normal man can, and throws a volume of punches and would force Floyd to expend a lot of energy to beat him.

But honestly, he was a plodder, he wasn't much of a thinking fighter, and he didn't have exceptional one punch power.

McGregor is going to utilize a high volume style, but mix in some devastating shots in between, when he sees openings, and trying to counter Floyd's counter, which could result in knockdown/KO shots. McGregor will also switch stanches and occasionally use sporadic side movement unlike anything Mayweather has ever seen in the professional arena.

Furthermore, he's going to dominate Mayweather in the clinch, especially considering he's a specialist in grappling and he's going to outweigh Floyd by 25 lbs. And from what I've seen in his workouts, McGregor is exceptionally strong for his size.

This is going to be FAR worse than Margarito. If Floyd had any idea what he was getting into, he would have never took this fight.

I'm telling you, this is BY far, Floyd hardest fight. I'm seeing less and less ways that he can win. This means if Floyd DOES win, it will be an absolute masterclass and his top performance, but unfortunately, I think this is the fight where he gets knocked out in devastating fashion.

We will see. But you gotta get that bias out of your head when it comes to his skills. He's MUCH better than Margarito. Just because someone has 20 years of experience, doesn't mean that they are necessarily good at what they do. They might be able to hang and have a good record, but some people are just the cream of the crop.

Mayweather and McGregor rise to the top. Trust me on this. You're going to be in for a surprise. Just make sure you tune in, August 26th.

i dont know why people cant accept the fight for what it is.
its a different style of event, its neither really a boxing match or mma fight in the eyes of each set of fans.

enjoy it for what it is. stop worrying about how much they are going to earn.

you telling me you wouldn't do the same if you were in eahc of their shoes? get lost

    because mcgregor has never boxed.
he has never gone further than 3 rounds.
in mcgregor's toughest mma fight other than the the loss he stood up and fought diaz,
mcgregor ran away, literally ran away when the heat got to much. from NATE DIAZ, did you see how he was fighting, had on defence and couldnt put diaz out.
    this is boxing, not MMA.
MARGO took punch after punch in his fights an walked right through them most fights.

what has made you think Mcgregor is better than all these boxers at bxoing? where is your evidence other than guessing?

also dont try to sell me a floyd fight. nobody has time for someone trying to sell a floyd fight. Every one stops and watched when floyd fights.

That was some of the worst stuff you will see on WWE TV. Even compared to some of the rubbish you might see today.

These guys are meant to be superstars, but the brawl for all exposed them all. These guys can't fight.

Butterbean vs Bart Gunn was something else. How to have your career ended in 10 seconds. lol
