lol come on, Floyd vs Big Show lmao . Don't you think Floyd vs Conor gunna be just a little more legit than that? Just a little ? ? ?

 

Its hard to say since no one has seen Mcgregor is a boxing match. Based on his standup in MMA I'd say Floyd should be able to stop him. This may end up looking like Floyd vs Gatti.

McGregor will be so frustrated I wouldn't be surprised if he just says **** it and tries to land as many kicks/elbows as he can before everyone jumps in the ring and stops it.

I have done both boxing and MMA. 8 years of judo, 3 years of boxing 2 years of thai boxing. When I tried my hand at mma, i was amazed and how little it has to do with any of those. In boxing, you throw a punch as you anticipate to throw another and another, standing a certain way to minimize impact area, bending low to avoid head shots etc etc.

In MMA, none of that works. You throw a punch and it doesn't connect, so you fake the next one then kick in the lower thigh. Do it enough times and he is not moving that well anymore. He bends down to avoid a punch, you lead with a knee. Got into a clinch? immediately start throwing elbows, wrestle him to the ground, etc. MMA is an entirely different animal, unrestricted by the rules of the sports that combine to form it. It is a whole that is greater than the sum of its parts. A true mma fighter would be DEMOLISHED in any particular form of the sport by an expert practitioner - and floyd is arguably one of the best that ever laced them up, because he does not understand the restrictions of the sport. When Floyd throws a jab, he has 3-4 potential punches set up already, and his brain is making the decision as to which is best, based on the reaction of the opponent, distance, ring position, momentum etc. MMA fighter throws a punch and looks if he can rush for a takedown, follow with a kick, spinning elbow, etc. McGregor doesn't have a snowman's chance in hell of winning this fight, just like James Toney got annihilated in the most one sided beat down produced by a senior citizen in the history of MMA.

This is a farce. Just like the Big Show.

 

Just because McGregor isn't a boxer it doesn't mean Floyd's going to suddenly grow a fresh killer instinct. Once he's in control, I expect him to coast like he always does. Then he will laugh his way to the bank once again.

 

I will look like Vitali Klitschko vs Corrie Sanders . Gregor doesn't have a traditional boxing defence. Once he tires and starts to swing widely , Floyd will surgically dismantle him.

 

If this goes past three rounds it's because Floyd allows it. What gloves are they using? They should at least choose gloves that give Conor the one in a million shot.

I would not be surprised if Conor goes No Mas after getting made to look stupid.

 

McConnor (lol) has no gas tank and can't go anymore than 8 rounds. It will be a boring non event with McConnor quitting on his stool mid rounds.

For another Staged fight like this, Floyd will Sucker punch McGregor before the 5th round.

 

I dunno. Sometimes the women have some really good fights. I was surprised at how good some of them are, they take their craft seriously. I get what you mean on the 'feel' of the event though.
