I don't think Shane has much to offer besides his name at this point, that's not to say that he won't be a live underdog, but I see Shane digging himself a big hole and not being able to get out of it.

At the end of the day, Shane doesn't have a commanding jab ... he throws wide punches ... and he has terrible balance and rhythm. The combination of those things will equal to his demise come May. Shane isn't a guy who's use to being the aggressor so he's not going to come forward effectively and he's not going to be able to chase Mayweather down and punch on the move.

In addition to that Shane has terrible defense ... he gets hit a bit too much and doesn't make any changes to his defense all he does is take punishment and hope to land a fast punch.

Shane has no defense for the jab ... Cotto, Forrest, and Winky all beat Shane off the jab ... all he does is bounce squared up and doesn't react that well to faints and counters.

    yeah something like that.

Oh Cory did beat Taylor and i just think Floyd vs Cory would've been very intriguing.

I agree and i think Floyd does a whole lotta running in this fight as well.

    How so?
The right hand put him over Trinidad and Mosley 2 when they thought he had no right hand.

You can't compare DLH at the end against Mayweather as the one who went against Trinidad and Mosley.

Oscar was yet another who put the jab on Mosley. Oscar imo is a much better "boxer" than Mosley.

Also, Fiztgerald, he was a fighter who fought on his toes, he would go flat footed for the exchanges to generate more power. He went back and forth. At the end it was just all flat footed because he never recovered after his retirement.

I don't know what fight you seen but the Tito v Oscar fight had a bunch of jabs involved ... the right hands were coming from Trinidad.

Yeah Oscar had all of that success in the amateurs but that has nothing to do with boxing skill, that is based on physicality and fast hands ... Oscar is a puncher with fast hands not a skilled boxer. You can check out his KO ratio ... it's in the 80% when comparing his UD vs. T/KO victories.

Both Winky and Forrest would beat him comfortably. I just think he matches up bad against them.

Floyd is completely right in this statement. Anytime a top level fighter decided to box Shane whether its Forrest, Winky, Oscar in the rematch and Cotto, they have all beaten him by beating him to the punch and breaking off his rhythm with a strong power jab.

Forrest said the best way to beat a guy like Shane is use the jab, and i just wonder why Shane gets beat for a guy skilled like him. I foresee Floyd using the right hand with precision. Shane is now relying on power to beat Floyd as he said, but he is making a huge mistake with that tactic.

Floyd is spot on obviously, though we already know about this thing since he lost to Wright and Forrest, and were proven further when he had difficulty against Cotto and Mayorga.

However, nne thing in common that these boxers (Forrest, Wright and Cotto) have is the fact that they punch hard, which further discourage Mosley to effectively pressure them.

That is why it would still be interesting to see the Floyd and Shane fight because eventhough Mayweather is an excellent boxer and defensive machine, he does not punch as hard as the three, and given that Shane is obviously the bigger and stronger guy, and is probably as athletic as him, this should be a good fight.

Since when does Winky punch hard? Forrest was not a big puncher either, although he did have good power.

I think trashing Mosley for losing to Vernon and Winky is very harsh, they were very bad match ups for him and if he wasn't so competitive (trying to avenge the amateur loss to Forrest) and didn't have such poor advise from Jin which led to so many bad business decisions then he wouldn't have taken those fights, because lets face it no one else was eager to see Forrest or Winky and they control everyone with their jabs.

I prefer to give Mosley credit for actually taking those challenges, the guy fought them not once but twice and basically brought Winky in from the wilderness.

bad choices, but give the guy props for doing what we fans are always asking for from fighters.
