Hey fellaz whats good! I mostly post in the general forum but I thought I would see what you guys thought about the subject in the thread! Floyd got buzzed hard in the second round x2! But while everyone was jumping up and cheering I saw something different. Floyd "caught" the punch thus tying his man up ASAP...Mosley never even had a chance to bring his right hand back to his body and Floyd kept him off balance and smothered. Thoughts?
Floyd did what a hurt/stunned fighter must do. Was very smart. I think Bayless is one of the best in the biz, him and Smoger. But Bayless dropped the ball a bit in allowing that clinch to go on as long as it did. He should have stepped in and separated sooner.
Even though he did fight perfect while being hurt but I think if that was an amateur fight it's best to take a knee & take an 8 count if you get hurt that bad , anyway referee would probably give the fighter hurt a standing count
Floyd did as I said. He adapted to the moment. He didn't learn how to grab his arm, he just did it. On top of that he decided to go forward instead of run. These are the choices he made under fire and it's adaptability and presence of mind that got him through it. However, another fighter would not be able to achieve what he did. Grabbing the arm would put them out of position and going forward would get them KTFO. Each to their own. Presence of mind and adapting to the situation is what needs to be practiced.
Hey, nuthuggers are welcome to the training forum. I feel it was a valid point. Everyone can get hurt from time to time, but to show composure under fire, like Floyd did, was amazing to watch. Our trainers tell our boxers that, I've been told that, but every time I get hurt I freak out and panic. I always feel the urge to run to a far away place and curl down into a fetal position until the beating stops.
