People do a lot of things that don't make sense. The US in particular is a win at all costs type of society. People cheat in every single sport knowing that there is random testing, hell Olympians even cheat with Olympic style testing, why would boxers be any different?

My point is that the threat of testing isn't enough. That's not a deterrent to some athletes. If the threat and not the actual test was what is behind the "success" of testing keeping athletes clean you could test once in a while keeping the "threat" real while being cheaper and better for the athletes.

The fact that they would leave an 18 day window shows me they agree with you, I personally don't think a threat isn't enough.

You have good points...

But I think with how strictly they were testing both Mayweather Mosley camps that they would have had to been idiots to juice up in the last couple weeks, no one would have knowing those same tests could pop up at any time.

As you said 18 days may not be strict enough, In my eyes, that proves even more why Pac should not be asking for a 14 day cutoff.
