Tuneup for what? Only way this fight has any credibility is if Mayweather signs for the Pac fight before it, which he won't. JMM-Pac is a probability for November, and that fight would have to be finalized 3-4 months out. Pac won't have much time to wait around to negotiate with Mayweather if he fights in July.

Surely, surely, the world's current pound-for-pound number 2 fighter is not going to go:

Marquez - Meaningless "tune-up" against a much smaller opponent

    Mosley - Serious fight

    Spadafora - Meaningless "tune-up" against a lower-weight C-class fighter

There's no way a p4p high-flyer and genuine superstar of boxing is going to embarrass himself with two jokes from his last three fights.

    Surely...

On October 29, 2003, Spadafora was arrested and accused in the shooting of his pregnant girlfriend, Nadine Russo. The story was that Spadafore and Russo were driving in Paul's new H3 Hummer on the night of October the 26th. An argument broke out between the two over the paternity of Russo's unborn child which ended outside of a local gas station where Spadafora allegedly pulled out a hand gun from his waist and shot Russo in the midsection. Spadafora was released after posting a $50,000 bond.

On September 7, 2004, he was arrested again for running a car into a parked police cruiser while allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol. At the same time, he announced that he and Russo were planning to get married on September 29, 2004. His personal troubles continued on December 11 when he was arrested after a urine test showed traces of cocaine in his body. On December 20, he plead guilty to drug use charges and was jailed immediately.

On February 23, 2005, Spadafora was sentenced to 21 to 60 months in prison for the attempted murder of Nadine Russo.

This must be one stupid mother ****er!

Spadafora Violates Parole; Back in Prison
By John Chandler on Jun 09, 2007 at 11:41 AM

Former IBF Lightweight Champion Paul Spadafora is now apparently back in prison after supposedly violating his parole…

Former IBF lightweight champion Paul Spadafora is back in prison for allegedly violating his parole.

Spadafora, 31, was arrested May 30 and is being held in the state prison at Albion, Leo Dunn, spokesman for the Pennsylvania Board of Probation and Parole, said Friday. Dunn said the alleged parole violations are not public record at this point in the process, nor are the terms of Spadafora’s parole.
