Doesn't change the fact that if he is going to fight Canelo, it has to be at 154.

True. But he shouldn't try and drag Canelo down.

Fact is if Mayweather fights Alvarez at 154 he gets a lot of respect and shuts up a lot of his doubters. It'd be a great win for him and probably the best win possible at this stage in his career.

If he brings Alvarez down to 147, it'll probably be worse than Dawson - Ward. He is only giving his critics ammo to say Alvarez was weight-drained at the win doesn't mean anything and he was too afraid to fight him at 154. And they would likely have a point.

    :deal

I will continue to say it. Canelo poses a real threa to Floyd. He is a smart boxer (which is important against Floyd), accurate, and has power in his hands. Deadly combination.

Here's the latest quote from Floyd about the Alvarez fight:

"I look at Miguel Cotto as an undefeated fighter because he faced Pacquiao, but Pacquiao caught him at a catch weight. He wasn't the best Miguel Cotto. He was drained. He wasn't hydrated. Antonio Margarito was a guy who was cheating. I want him to be comfortable and feel good when we meet and go into this battle."
