Not sure who is "more" popular to be honest, but I think another poster hit on it earlier when they said Floyd could sell fighting a scrub. Plus Khan just looks compromised, especially vs Floyd - its harder to convince yourself Khan has a chance than an undefeated fighter who looks strong.

But the bottom line is Brook just has far stronger promotional and TV backing in his corner. (who also has a real working relationship with Haymon. So does Khan obviously, but Matchroom has far more to offer in terms on long term deals and horse-trading)

If Floyd were 5-6 years younger would be worth doing but he's earned a last few retirement fights. People will always create a new alleged monster that is supposed to be the one to beat him. Some people are so sick and desperate to see him beaten or injured they'd love to even see him fight Kovalev or a HW.

It only matters if you'd be going to a decision with him. There would be no decision.

I don't think anyone ever earns my $100 by what they did previously. Heavy lies the crown, and all. If he wants to generate interest, he has to fight someone interesting.

Floyd has done a lot, but he has already been handsomely compensated for it. He is happy to tell you just how handsomely at any opportunity. Fans don't "owe" him anything.

I doubt Floyd knocks him out. The fight would go the distance.

You, sir, are correct. There's a reason HBO is being real friendly and giving Mayweather the Sept date w/o a fight. Showtime is going to **** themselves.

He doesn't need anyone that interesting because plenty of people will still pay because they are so desperate to see him lose.

And let's say IF there was a Pac rematch, would Mayweather then make more money by doing it under HBO since they wouldn't be splitting costs w/ a huge entity like Showtime? :think

Roc Nation is the ones that said there weren't going to compete with Mayweather. HBO guys keep trashing Floyd as usual.

    HBO wouldn't mind floyd/ggg, floyd/cotto 2, floyd/canelo 2, and floyd/manny 2 on their network

No, not really. They gave Mayweather the Sept 12 date which could have EASILY been stolen by Canelo/Cotto. That was HBO saying, "Hey Mayweather, we are on your side. Think about us when you're a free agent, boo. :smooch"
