Mayweather on Ward vs Golovkin

as a black guy myself, most of us don't think much of ggg or canelo. and still waiting for ggg to fight some real comp.

 

I'm white and I don't think much of Triple G. Maybe his rabid fan base loves him because they want a white guy to be great? I like Canelo though. He is a great Irish boxer.

 

mayweather is just saying what most of us are thinking. yeah, we understand why fights like ggg-monroe and canelo-kirkland have to be made. it's for a certain demographic. but no reason for us to care.

 

Well yes, he is the best aside from Floyd. Ward levels above everyone else.

And fyi, andre ward is a black fighter...not irish. black. there's never been an irish guy who could match ward in terms of skill and talent.

I believe they asked TMT members and guys from mayweathers gym to make prediction on lomachenko vs russel and they all picked russel to beat loma. It just shows you how stupid and bigoted they are

 

If a white boxer was interviewed and said GGG would win and that a white guy was worth more money to investors than another white dude none of you guys would say he was being racist.

Racist undertones all over this thread. It's not like he's saying Badou Jack would move up and beat Kovalev, he's talking about a tough match up

 

Everyone's getting way too caught up with race. I think it's more about styles. And knowing what he knows about boxing and styles - he picked ward. Not really a big deal. I don't like floyd either, but i don't know why people are assuming he was inferring anything about race.

 

Of course Golovkin fans are mad as hell seeing this. It's an obvious pick to pick Ward over Golovkin...hell it's obvious to pick Ward over anyone.

 

I think I feel certain people think of Triple G as the next 'Great White Hope'. The last one I recall was Pavlik. That didn't turn out so well for them.
