“I like Andre Ward, but one thing about me -- call a spade a spade. He didn’t win,” Mayweather said of Ward. “Chocolatito has to be No. 1. He haven’t lost yet, and he’s a helluva fighter.” from ESPN.....

Well Floyd is among the vast majority who feel the same. Can't wait for the rematch. If Ward doesn't retire that is

Ward is going to come back and say Mayweather may feel like that because he didn't beat Castillo

I put more stock into someone like Roy Jones's opinion on who wins fights than Floyd. Floyd is very female'ish emotionally, petty, and has shown time and time again to not deal in reason and logic when discussing things.... for all I know hes saying Ward lost to take some shine off him in some way for something Ward may have said awhile back that Floyd got oversensitive about. Or for something as stupid as Shakur signing him and Prince as managers.

That being said..... even Roy Jones thinks Ward lost as well, so....

I don't need someone else to tell me what to think in a subjective sport. I had Ward winning the fight, I trust my judgement more than someone who gets punched in the head and has emotional biases. Just because Floyd said it doesn't give it more credibility.

Only those who are biased thought SOB won the fight, SOB knew that all he had to do was be standing at the end of the fight and his personal judges would give him the titles, not to mention Byrd allowing SOB to hold, grab Kovalev's leg, run, but not fight.................Kovalev did the fighting, did the damage, but he should have gone ahead and knocked SOB out, should have known the judges were on SOB's side............I am tired of crooked judges.............

Obviously, Floyd mayweather is the greatest of all time, the BEST ever, thus his opinion holds more weight than anyone else.

You're not someone I have typically agreed with in the past, but the opening sentence I agree with on so many levels, not just when it comes to boxing.

That's fair enough, I can understand that attitude....

But surely, isn't a reasonable mind.... an intelligent mind.... when made aware that not only do the majority of the other fans that follow the sport, think Ward lost, but his American peers, and even people who are very fond of him, also feel he lost the fight, instead of doubling down and saying 'I'm not going to listen to anyone else, its subjective', instead say 'hmmm.... majority of people are saying Kova won, even other americans, even other americans whose job it is to analyze and call the fights (Roy Jones) and who are actual acquaintances of Ward, maybe its time I rescore the fight".

Bad Left Hook had a public poll in which almost 5,000 people took part.... only 21% thought Ward won the fight. That's the most lopsided poll Ive ever seen for a 'controversial' fight like this.

Surely, in a subjective matter such as boxing, you still have to wonder when you find yourself in such an extreme minority? An extreme minority that is backing the fighter that was the challenger, that threw less punches, that landed less punches, and got knocked down in the process?

idk... all I'm saying is I would think being in such a minority would at least make one rewatch the fight and try to rescore it. But idk maybe you've already done that, but Ive heard other people say the same thing so figured Id make a post on it.

Ward fans know he lost the fight, they'd be hamming him as TBE confirms ward is best if he said ward had actually best kovalev.

Fair play floyd, keeping it real, Ey fellas!

I'm in the minority I believe because I understand the sport and have a keener eye, plus the ability to ignore what the commentators are or are not calling. I've rewatched that fight and I still had Ward winning. I thought more of Kovalev before the fight, he showed that he is quite one-dimensional and isn't able to adapt. Ward showed the opposite and pulled out a close one.
