Mayweather or Ali? Whos got the better offense??

I certainly think Ali was a dick at times... Especially to Frazier, but Frazier did kick his ass the first time.... Much of what Ali said was very offensive to Frazier, and unfair... But that was almost what made Ali, very forward person, very smart, and happened to be a great fighter.


I honestly look past alot of Ali's personal beliefs, more or less respect him for having the balls being a voice, an athlete, and overall public figure. He said what he wanted, and never thought anything of it, stood up for what he believed in and didn't give a ****... I like that in a person.:yep

 

Exactly. It just irks me a bit when I hear about Ali being a great person when in fact he has that dark past that gets glossed over.

 

Yep, fair enough. He got it back anyhow when Frazier beat him the first time around with the big knockdown to punctuate it.

 

When Ali lit the Olympic torch in 96, Frazier supposedly said he wanted to push him in.

 

This is true,he did stand up for what he believed in,so did Holmes but it seems like he was persacuted for it,while Ali got a free pass for it,and Holmes even spoke more about the truth about racial issues in this country.:-(

Thats bad that Joe is so bitter to this day,with all the great history they have in the ring,but its outside of the ring with Ali's ruthless put downs that have caused this.I at guys like Leonard and Hearns and they are great friends,and many other rivals,Ali has a special mouthpiece to make a guy like joe hate his guts.lol

Ya, I actually heard that. Funny stuff. Frazier's all ****ed up over that stuff, to this day.

 

Defense opens opportunities for offense but it is never converted to offense.

Two different elements ofg boxing that can be applied in single motion but still two different and distinct elements.

I would say Floyd from 130-135 was better than Clay/Ali for offense as far as being the total package.

Floyd had better combinations which included both the body and head; and he could throw every punch in the book.
