Ortiz looked a little too happy sitting on his stool after being KO'd. That's a hard emabarrasment to take. His corner does nothing. Guy should at least play the part and lie and say he thought he was cheated like most fighters do.
how was it fixed? you think ortiz gets knocked out like that for fun and some money? I dont want to see cortez in big fights anymore though.
I dunno about "fixed" as it were, but Ortiz definitely didn't care about the outcome. I'm sure he was happy collecting the biggest payday he'd ever gotten in his life.
I'm not one of those who thinks it's fixed, but watching the replay multiple times and something about Cortez's actions seem strange. Probably watched too much WWF back in the day lol.
Think about that statement. No one cared who Maidana was until now. He now gets big fights and in the picture at 140 making his company a lot of money. Ortiz loses like a punk but ends up getting a shot at the WBC welterweight champ in his first fight at welter with Floyd Mayweather sitting ringside. Now even after being KO'd by Floyd, Ortiz has the option of a rematch with either Floyd(wouldn't want to see it but Floyd said it's possible) Berto or bring Maidana to 147. Think about it? Good business for GBP and no matter what he says, Floyd is a part of it.
Maybe Ortiz was happy losing controversially if he realised he was going to get outboxed anyways, at least this way he can say he lost unfairly and try for a rematch (another big payday)
despite that it looks like a WWE story line and GBP is the main promoter, i don't think that it is fixed.
Putting an inmature child dazed by the lights and sights of Vegas to fight a megalomaniac on PMS with a incompetent, senile, corrupt referee attempting to "oversee" the action sowed the seeds of disaster.
I agree but this doesn't mean those fights were fixed. Its promoters job to create hype. I'm not saying Ortiz is hype-job but he was clearly overhyped and has taken too much credit before he proved something.
