Its as simple as that. Cotto is an idiot. He could of boxed Pac but he decided to try and beat on him. What made Cotto look so bad is that he cant mix his offense and defense. He is either fully attacking on offense or he is retreating and he literally looks like he is running. Floyd can mix offense and defense easy. He can be moving on the back foot and still be offensive and score. Pac gets ****ing frustrated as **** when a guy gets moving. You see it in the 2nd Barrera fight and the Cotto fight. Barrera would not engage in a fight and Pac could not get into any kind of rhythm. Barrera lost that fight b/c he is not a great counter puncher and he was slow on his feet and just old and slow in general. Floyd got this.

Manny did not shut **** down. Cotto was still tagging him with the jab whenever he threw it. Its b/c Cotto was in full retreat while jabbing for 70% of the fight is why he could not capitolize. ODH did not even throw ****ing punches and was dead so thats that.

I expect to see Mayweather go thru his entire skillset for this one, there will be combinations but only when Pac is in some sort of bother, Floyd wont stand & throw combo`s when Pac is in his zone throwing his own combo`s, thats what got guys like Hatton & Cotto KO`d & thats when Pacman is at his most lethal, Mayweather isnt stupid, he`ll outbox Manny until the time is right to put the hurt on.

Also, I saw too many wide and looping punches by both Pac and Cotto. Floyd will see that stuff coming a mile away. I also believe the straight right to the stomach and head is going to be the difference. And I believe Floyd is going to smother Pacs punches and clinch and throw short punches and uppercuts.

Flloyd might struggle.... but recently those opponents who engaged in toe-to-toe warfare with Pacman have been flattenned.... Flloyd ain't gonna go toe-to-toe for even a second.... he's gonna potshot and use his jab wisely.

Flloyd may struggle with the footspeed at first.... but once he's adjusted I think he wins comfortably...

Pacman has struggled with counter punchers and fighters who run... as others have already mentioned:

Barrera in 2nd fight - not really struggled, but did not have any rythm and got frustrated
Marquez - who was able to nullify the footspeed...although pac have improved since then
Cotto - in some parts Pac was struggling or at least frustrated when Cotto got on his bike and landed a few jabs...

One major factor I beleive is the fact Flloyd has a got 6 inch reach advantage (i think)

This is Floyd's fight to lose in the objective view of the majority of observers. If there is any single facet that can make the difference against Mayweather it's footspeed. It's key, excellent subject for a thread. Pacquiao's ability to stay on top of Mayweather with his athleticism and agility will make all the difference in this fight. It certainly gives him a fighting chance. 80% of Floyd's whole game is distance control.

Thomas Hearns and Vernon Forrest had better jabs than Oscar and Cotto. Also, Marvin Hagler was not a welterweight.

The point then is, what if he cant bother pacquiao. I believe he loses a decision if he doesnt open up. I honestly dont know whether mayweather has the ammo or the willingness to keep pacquiaos respect. Marquez did it but damn the dude took some shots in return. Another point id mention is that pacquiao actually shut down cottos offence in their fight. With the punch stats, pacquiao doubled cottos connect percentage. Even in the rounds where it appeared cotto was outboxing manny, manny was still outlanding him.

I agree. Floyd almost dropped after receiving a leaping shot from Hatton in the early going, now imagine it's Pac who lands that shot.

You're right, Roach will never tell that to Pac but Pac walked through Cotto's punches and off the ropes against Roach wishes which basically won the fight for Pac.

He damn sure shouldnt tell pacquiao to walk through shots. That is no way to win a fight. Its what you do in the absence of boxing. I believe pacquiao with his fast feet can get into range and overcome mayweathers reflexes enough to really land some clean shots.
