Great episode, HBO tried real hard to make Floyd likeable in this one. Can't wait for the next one.

:huh I thought you watched .. The part where he is in red shirt saying that you know when someone is about to be executed you give everything he wants ... the 60/40 the bloodtest etc...

 

it was fantastic- but i don't think there is a next one- i think HBO is only going to do the single documentary, while showtime is doing a 3 part pre series- and one post fight....
i certainly do hope HBO do a few of them- but I'm pretty sure its just the one

 

goes to show how much better the editors, writers and directors are better than Showtime. and showtime were so much more bias in their doco, whereas hbo tried to make it as even as they could, despite the fact they had no access to new may weather footage or new interviews with him. The opening and closing scens are worth of a few emmy awards in themselves.

 

It didn't address what really happened but was still good. The most disturbing part was Manny's inside last meal joke. It doesn't even make sense probably because he doesn't know English all that well. Unbeknownst to Manny, Roach has steady been throwing him under the bus when he admitted from his own mouth that they were the reason the first fight negoiciations fell through due to testing to today's bombshell that manny has to appear in court 2 days prior to the fight in Arizas declamation case against Roach who passive-aggressively implied he gave Manny PEDs. Manny looks like a guy who's clueless saying the blood tests were never an issue without fully expressing what was the issue (once again probably just because he doesn't know English) but Roach's mouth took care of that also. Of course Liev Schriber is a way better commentator but this documentary was more biased of the two and glanced over issues as best it could.

The guranteed purses were revealed yesterday or late last week on yahoo sports. Manny's guarantee is only 35 million for this fight but he does get PPV upside. Consider he was already advanced money to buy his newly acquired mansion. Floyd's 40 million flat fee is not that much away of what manny will be getting paid anyways now. And I guarantee Bob takes it from his PPV uptake. Regardless, May 2nd ends this stupid war and boxing will finally get to move on.

 

they are doing a "legends" episode, one week before the fight. its interviews with boxing legends and also fighters who have fought floyd and pac. should be great for the boxing nerds.
the anticipation for the fight is building momentum.
