:patsch Just as I predicted. You're a gutless fanboy. Doesn't matter WHO called out who, a catchweight is catchweight. Nor does it matter WHAT weight they started at. What matter is WHERE they were fighting.

The fact that you think this sad excuse hold water says **** load about you. You may not make angry posts like SD Finest or michiganwarrior, but your as big a fanboy as they are. Convenient excuse after convenient excuse.

And learn to readf dipt****, I am NOT saying that about Cotto or floyd because I haven't mentioned them. Posters like you try to take something from one post, apply it to another, then pull that, "Are you telling me..." crap. Learn to comprehend and use a message board.

Lance, you're useless. You're not very bright and you make idiotic arguments simply for the purpose of arguing. You don't even seem to understand that making analogies is an effective way to make a point. It goes right over your head, you can't conncet the dots.

shane did not negotiate with pac.

what you're referring to i guess was shane's conversation with freddie roach. and fyi, freddie does not and has never negotiated for manny.
    that was not a negotiation.

No Sir, not a bad thing. Below is what I re-call things being like at the time, let me know if you disagree.

    Pacquaio stops DLH in December

Mosley stops Margarito in January for the WBA title, and lineal claim. (Margarito had won this from Cotto after Mayweather's retirement.)

Cotto returns and beats unhearelded Michael Jennings for the WBO title

Mosley goes to the Wildcard to negotiate a fight with Roach. FR offers him the fight at 143lbs (Maybe 142) Mosley says he can't make that weight. Mosley asks them the difference, being that they fought Oscar at 147lbs, and Roach replies that he is better than Oscar. Fight negotiations end.

Rumblings in the Boxing world are that Cotto has not been the same since the Margarito fight, he struggles in a life and death fight with Joshua Clottey, winning a debated decision. (I had it for Cotto by 1 point)

WW rankings now look like this

    1. Mosley (WBA + Lineal)
    2. Pacquaio
    3. Cotto (WBO)
    4. Berto (WBC)

(IBF title is vacant, Clottey dropped it to fight Cotto. Jan Zaveck wins it)

Pacquaio signs to fight Cotto, who is considered one of the best WW's in the world, not the best; that is currently Shane Mosley. Miguel Cotto is offered the fight at 145lbs, something never offered to Mosley.

No one can honestly claim that Hatton was at a disadvantage fighting at WW. He simply had to cut less weight.....that is a fact!

Plus he held a title at 147 Lbs.....oh and Ricky himself said the weight wasn't an issue?

Shane called his ass out on TV and showed up at the Wildcard TWICE. What else was he supposed to do? Send him a certified letter? "Pac" and his team wanted absolutely nothing to do with Shane before he looked like absolute **** in two consecutive fights. FACT.

:patsch Oh please. Look at what you say,

    Yes....the ONLY reason.

And a blanket statement you think it true for all.

    Learn some humility FFS...

:huh Even if this is true. So what? Last I looked, Pac isn't the ONLY guy who doesn't fight the absolute best guy in the division each and every time out. You never seem to hold Floyd to this distinction despite claiming to be a fan of both fighters.

Pac, like floyd, picks opponents based on how well they help make them money.

Care to give other reasons and cite examples of it being tougher for a fighter to come up than go down, Lance, or are you just here to argue without actually trying to logically refute anything?

Would've said this is done to def but Reg is beating bitches down. As is SJS.

Love how *******s try to make the JMM catchweight a big deal. C'mon, JMM is my fav guy and I don't make it a big deal. Mayweather didn't want to drain himself and did not handicap JMM. JMM handicapped himself fighting Floyd but he has a big heart for doing that.

I'm not a Pacquaio fan. Though that's probably got more to do with some of his fans. I enjoyed MAB 1, EM 1, Cotto and all the JMM fights.

Again you're right, but the subject of this thread is catch weights; and my point is that Pacquaio tried to dictate a lower catchweight to a bigger threat in Shane Mosley, than he did to Miguel Cotto.

Question; Why was Pacquaio okay to fight DLH at 147lbs, but Cotto at 145? Then Clottey at 147lbs in his next fight?

Moving on from that, why Marquez at 144, but Bradley at 147lbs?
