Team Pacquiao genuinely thought at 144 JMM would be ineffective due to his outing with Mayweather and his age etc.....they didn't want to go higher than that as then it would be OBVIOUS to everyone what they were trying to do, bring him at a weight higher than the Mayweather fight.

At 144 they could posture and claim innocence regarding the weight.

I think Kellerman and Steward put if perfectly during the broadcast of the Mayweather/Marquez fight. Mayweather's style, height, length, and natural size were the problem for Marquez. The 2 lbs. really weren't. Like Kellerman said, Marquez had to come up in weight, so it's not like he had to drain himself and Mayweather didn't. You're right though, Marquez deserves a lot of props for not only taking that fight, but for putting up such an effort as well.

    :yep

This is despite there being multiple interviews where Pacquaio and his team mention how hard it is to put and keep the weight on for a WW fight. You'd of thought he'd of been happy to fight the Lightweight Champion of the world at the 140lbs half way point? :huh

Yes Floyd brought Marquez up, no denial and no defence.

what's the point of pac asking for a higher weight limit if both him and jmm will virtually weigh the same on fight night.

Exactly! They didnt because they dont want a level playing field there HAS to be an advantage for them.

Floyd wanted the Oscar fight he moved up got outweighed by 4Lbs on weigh in and however much more on fight night. JMM wanted the Mayweather fight and got outweighed by 2Lbs on weigh in and however much more on fight night!

It's not like Floyd was the first person to make someone come up he had the same done to him except he made it count and won the fight! :good

For being pudgy and looking the worst I've seen him. To Mayweather's credit he beat him on skill not size and is still the only person to truly beat him in my eyes. Don't hold it against JMM for obvious reasons.

Same size Mayweather beats him. As much as I like Marquez it was a bit interesting to watch as a fan of both though JMM is just not on Floyd's level. No shame in that as he put up the best fight he could and fought through disadvantages which most try to avoid doing. Like Pacquiao draining people and not fighting Martinez because he doesn't wanna get hurt again. Couldn't resist lol

Good point and also he broke his hand against Baldo and was outweighed by 12 pds and still put on a shutout. Decent fighter Baldo was though admitingly not all that.
